Why is it important to blow out the flame before the methanol is completely consumed?

Chemistry
1 answer:
pentagon [3]3 years ago
4 0

Burying all of the methanol results in a hotter temperature so because flaming is attempting to ignite the dried salts.

That's because as the methanol is eaten to the finish, the flame approaches the dry salts and attempts to ignite them.

It is therefore critical to extinguish the flame even before methanol is entirely consumed.

Einstein's formula tells us the amount of energy to which a given mass would be equivalent, if it were all suddenly turned into
skad [1K]
Einstein's famous equation, E = mc^2 relates the mass (m) of an object to energy (E). The speed of light (c), is the constant of proportionality. Einstein formulated the equation within his theory of special relativity. Indeed, a physical interpretation of this equation is that any given mass is equivalent to the energy given by the equation, if it were suddenly converted to energy. Therefore the answer to the question is true.

7. A solution contains a mixture of pentane and hexane at room temperature. The solution has a vapor pressure of 250 torr . Pure
Sliva [168]

Answer:

mole fraction hexane 0.64

Explanation:

We know from Raoult's law of partial pressures that for a binary mixture, the vapor pressure above solution is the sum of the partial pressures of each gas:

P total = P(A) + P(B)

Also the partial pressure of a component is the product of its mole fraction , X, times its pure vapor pressure:

Ptotal = X (A)Pº(A) + X (B)Pº(B)

Since for solution of two components the mole fractions add to one, we now have all the information required to compute the answer.

250 torr = X(hexane)151 torr + ( 1 - X(hexane) )425 torr

250 = 151X(hexane) + 425 - 425 X(hexane)

274 X(hexane) = 175

X(hexane) = 1 -0.6 = 0.64
