Given that a ball is thrown into the air and its height in feet after t seconds is given by y = 45t - 15t², the instantaneous velocity when t=4 is -75ft/s.

What is the instantaneous velocity when t=4?

Given that;

 • Initial velocity = 45ft/s
 • Height in feet after t seconds is given by y = 45t - 15t²
 • Instantaneous velocity = ?

First, we determine the derivative of y = 45t - 15t²

y' = (1)45 - (2)15t

y' = 45 - 30t

We substitute in t = 4

y' = 45 - 30t

y' = 45 - 30(4)

y' = 45 - 120

y' = -75ft/s

Given that a ball is thrown into the air and its height in feet after t seconds is given by y = 45t - 15t², the instantaneous velocity when t=4 is -75ft/s.

In a 120-volt circuit having a resistance of 12 ohms, the power W in watts when a current I is flowing through is given by W=120
Mrac [35]

Answer:

maximum power = 300 W

Explanation:

Ohm's law: Ohm's law state that the current flowing through a metallic conductor, is directly proportional to the potential difference applied across its end. mathematically it is expressed as,

V = IR............. Equation 1

Where V = potential difference, I = current, R = Resistance of the conductor.

If the power flowing through is gives as

W = 120I - 12I² ..................... Equation 2

To get the maximum power we differentiate of equation 2 and equate to zero

dW/dt = 0

120 - 24l = 0........................... equation 3

Making I the subject of the equation,

I = 120/24 = 5 A.

Suubstituting the value of I into Equation 2

W = 120 (5) - 12(5)²

W = 600 - 300

W = 300 W.

Therefore maximum power = 300 W

The law of conservation of mass follows from the concept that
tatuchka [14]

Question:

The law of conservation of mass follows from the concept that a. atoms are indivisible. b. atoms of different elements have different properties. c. matter is composed of atoms. d. atoms can be destroyed in chemical reactions.

Answer:

The law of conservation of mass follows from the concept that atoms are indivisible

Explanation:

The law of conservation of mass tells that atoms in an object neither can be created nor be destroyed, but they can be transferred around and transformed into various particles. Also, it says that the total mass preceding the chemical reaction corresponds to the total mass after the chemical reaction.

In other words, the mass remains intact. Lavoisier formulated this law as a result of a combustion experiment in which he stated that the weight of his starting material - a glass jar, tin and air - was equal to the mass of the material produced - a glass jar, "Tin calcium" and the rest of the air.

The term "atom" arrives from the language of Greek and means indivisible, because atoms were thought to be the tiny things present in the universe and could not be divided. But not familiar that atom comprises with three particles: proton, neutron and electron- even tiny particles like quarks.
