I've learned that one of the primary reasons for terrorism is distress. Most terrorists have a problem and are trying to bring awareness to that problem. They use the media to broadcast their problem. They know that if they terrorize the news will cover it and with that their problem will be broadcast and they believe that it will bring resolution.
