Lewis had a six-sided dice numbered from 1 to 6. He rolled it a total of 50 times. It landed on an odd number 22 times. a) Work

out the relative frequency of the dice landing on an odd number. Give your answer as a decimal. b) If the dice were fair, what would the theoretical probability of it landing on an odd number be? Give your answer as a decimal. c) Is the dice definitely biased or definitely not biased, or is it impossible to tell? Write a sentence to explain your answer.

Probability helps us to know the chances of an event occurring. The dice is not completely fair hence the dice is biased.

What is Probability?

Probability helps us to know the chances of an event occurring.

\rm Probability=\dfrac{Desired\ Outcomes}{Total\ Number\ of\ outcomes\ possible}

Lewis had a six-sided dice numbered from 1 to 6. He rolled it a total of 50 times. It landed on an odd number 22 times.

A.) The relative frequency is the ratio of the number of success to the number of trials that have been performed. Therefore, the relative frequency can be written as,

Relative Frequency = 22/50 = 11/25 = 0.44

B.) The experimental probability of the dice landing on an odd number can be written as,

Probability

= (Number of Odd numbers On dice, eg 1, 3, and 5)/(Number of faces)

= 3/6

= 0.5

Hence, the probability of the dice landing on an odd number is equal to 0.5.

C.) For the dice to be fair out of 50 trials the dice must land on an odd number for 25 times, so that the probability of the of landing on an odd number is 0.5. Since the number of times the dice lands on an odd number out of 50 is 22. Therefore, the dice is not completely fair hence the dice is biased.

Y=x +3
1 23x+2y=-4
what is it
erik [133]

Answer:

x=-0.08 and y=2.92

Step-by-step explanation:

123x + 2(x+3) = -4             y = -0.08 + 3

123x + 2x + 6 = -4                = 2.92

125x + 6 = -4

125x = -10

x= -0.08

What is the 23rd term of the arithmetic sequence where a1 = 8 and a9 = 48?
joja [24]

Answer:

23rd term of the arithmetic sequence is 118.

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question we have been given first term a1 = 8 and 9th term a9 = 48

we have to find the 23rd term of this arithmetic sequence.

Since in an arithmetic sequence

T_{n}=a+(n-1)d

here a = first term

n = number of term

d = common difference

since 9th term a9 = 48

48 = 8 + (9-1)d

8d = 48 - 8 = 40

d = 40/8 = 5

Now T_{23}= a + (n-1)d

= 8 + (23 -1)5 = 8 + 22×5 = 8 + 110 = 118

Therefore 23rd term of the sequence is 118.
