Analyzing the vitamin and mineral content of foods is an important step in developing good eating habits. Unfortunately, our fav

orite foods are not always the most nutritious foods. Foods that are processed or that contain high amounts of sugar tend to taste good but have few naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.
Record the information requested in the steps listed below in the REPORT document at the bottom of the page. Then answer the questions asked in the REPORT document.

Step 1: List three of your favorite foods. They can be fresh or packaged foods.

Step 2: For each food source, list the three most abundant vitamins and/or minerals.

Step 3: Using the chart in the lesson entitled "Vitamins," list the health benefits that correspond to the vitamins and/or minerals that your favorite foods contain.

My favorite foods and their vitamins are;

  1. Milk
  2. Egg
  3. Apples.

  • Apples have an abundance of Vitamin C.

  • Egg has an abundance of Protein. This is useful for rebuilding blood cells and tissue repair.
  • Apples have an abundance of Vitamin C. This helps to heal too.

All the goods above are very beneficial. This is because, all of them have unique roles and work together to provide a healthy me.
