1M KCl will require 25 mL to generate 100 mL of 0.25M KCl.

Molarity of a solution is defined as number of moles of solute present in 1000 mL of the solution.

M=\frac{n}{V}\times1000

So molarity is inversely proportional to the volume of the solution.

As solution is diluted. Molarity of the solution decreases.

1M of KCl means 1 mole of KCl in 1000 mL of the solution.

1M KCl is four times as concentrated as 0.25M KCl.

Therefore, to make 100 mL of 0.25M will require \frac{100}{4}= 25 mL of 1M KCl diluted to 100 mL of distilled water.

Easy alternative: Dilution formula

M_1\times V_1 = M_2\times V_2

Where M_1 \,and\, V_1 are volume and concentration of first solution

and M_2\,and\, V_2 are of second solution.

1\times V= 0.25\times100\\\\V= 25\,mL

What is the reaction scheme for the experiment of synthesis of methyl salicylate
soldier1979 [14.2K]

The methyl salicylate (wintergreen oil) is the methyl ester of salicylic acid.

Methyl salicylate is produced by esterifying salicylic acid with methanol, the reaction scheme is attached to this answer. In the past, it was commonly distilled from the twigs of Betula lenta (sweet birch) and Gaultheria procumbens (eastern teaberry or wintergreen).

What is the molarity of a solution made by dissolving 14.8 g of ammonium hydroxide NH4OH, in enough water to make 250.0 mL of so
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

Molarity= 1.69M

Explanation:

m= 14.8, Mm= 35, V= 0.25dm3, C= ?

Moles = m/M= C×V

Substitute and Simplify

m/M= C×V

14.8/35= C×0.25

C= 1.69M

5. Can you determine the number of neutrons in the nucleus of an atom by looking at the element's average atomic mass and the at
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

No you can't

Explanation:

The atomic number is the amount of protons in element's nucleus, that's one reason why. The second reason is that the atomic mass is protons and neutrons combined, their estimated value, which doesn't show how much neutrons are in an element. It does show combined, but not specifically neutrons
