There are 1.48 × 10²⁵ molecules of zinc oxide in a 2 kg sample. Details about number of molecules can be found below.

<h3>How to calculate number of molecules?</h3>

The number of molecules of a substance can be calculated by multiplying the number of moles of the substance by Avogadro's number.

According to this question, there are 2000g of ZnO in a sample. Zinc oxide has a molar mass of 81.38 g/mol.

no of moles = 2000g ÷ 81.38g/mol

no of moles = 24.57mol

number of molecules = 24.57 × 6.02 × 10²³

number of molecules = 147.95 × 10²³

Therefore, there are 1.48 × 10²⁵ molecules of zinc oxide in a 2 kg sample.

Use the provided reduction potentials to calculate ArGº for the following balanced redox reaction: Pb2+(aq) + Cu(s) → Pb(s) + Cu
nydimaria [60]

Answer : The correct option is, +91 kJ/mole

Solution :

The balanced cell reaction will be,

Cu(s)+Pb^{2+}(aq)\rightarrow Cu^{2+}(aq)+Pb(s)

Here copper (Cu) undergoes oxidation by loss of electrons, thus act as anode. Lead (Pb) undergoes reduction by gain of electrons and thus act as cathode.

First we have to calculate the standard electrode potential of the cell.

E^0_{[Pb^{2+}/Pb]}=-0.13V

E^0_{[Cu^{2+}/Cu]}=+0.34V

E^0_{cell}=E^0_{cathode}-E^0_{anode}

E^0_{cell}=E^0_{[Pb^{2+}/Pb]}-E^0_{[Cu^{2+}/Cu]}

E^0_{cell}=-0.13V-(0.34V)=-0.47V

Now we have to calculate the standard Gibbs free energy.

Formula used :

\Delta G^o=-nFE^o_{cell}

where,

\Delta G^o = standard Gibbs free energy = ?

n = number of electrons = 2

F = Faraday constant = 96500 C/mole

E^o = standard e.m.f of cell = -0.47 V

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get the Gibbs free energy.

\Delta G^o=-(2\times 96500\times (-0.47))=+90710J/mole=+90.71kJ/mole\approx +91kJ/mole

Therefore, the standard Gibbs free energy is +91 kJ/mole

The coefficients in a balanced chemical equation represent
Dafna1 [17]
The coefficients in a chemical equation represent the molar ratio of the substances.

For example, if an equation says 2H2 + O2 ⇒ 2H2O, it means
2 moles of H2 + 1 mol of O2 ⇒ 2 moles of H2O.

Which statement is true?
MissTica

Answer:

The correct answer is in an exothermic reaction the energy of the product is less than the energy of the reactants.

Explanation:

Exothermic reaction is a type of reaction that generates heat.As a result in case of an exothermic reaction the energy of the reactant is more than the energy of the product.

       That"s why the enthalpy change in an exothermic reaction is always positive .
