The <em>missing</em> length of the box with <em>square</em> base is 20.370 inches.

<h3>What is the missing length of the box?</h3>

This box can be represented by a <em>right</em> prism, whose volume (V), in cubic inches, is the product of the area of the base (A), in square inches, and the height of the box (h), in inches. The area of the base is equal to the square of the <em>side</em> length (l):

V = l² · h      (1)

If we know that V = 2 200 in³ and l = 108 in, then the height of the box is:

h = V / l²

h = (2 200 in³) / (108 in)

h = 20.370 in

The <em>missing</em> length of the box with <em>square</em> base is 20.370 inches.

<h3>Remark</h3>

The statement presents typing mistakes, correct form is shown below:

How many roots does -2x^2-8=0 have
Aloiza [94]

Answer: two

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor out the equation:

-2(x^{2} + 4) = 0

-2 cannot equal zero, so that means x^{2}  - 4 will have to equal to zero in order to get zero as a product

x^{2} - 4 = 0

Factor the equation to get:

(x+2)(x-2) = 0

x = 2, x = -2

The equation has two roots

How to evaluate the integral
Papessa [141]
Remember
for F(x) is the antiderivitive of f(x)
\int\limits^a_b {f(x)} \, dx =F(a)-F(b)
so find the antiderivitive of ((x+1)^2)/x

if we expand we get (x^2+2x+1)/x which simplifies to x+2+(1/x)
the anti-deritivive of  x is (1/2)x^2
the antideritiveve of 2 is 2x
the antideritivieve of 1/x is ln|x|

F(x)=(1/2)x^2+2x+ln|x|+C

\int\limits^2_1 { \frac{(x+1)^2}{x} } \, dx =F(2)-F(1)

F(1)=(5/2)+ln1+C
F(2)=6+ln2+C

F(2)-F(1)=6+ln2+C-(5/2+ln1+C)
F(2)-F(1)=(7/2)+ln2
that is the answer
if you want is simplified or expanded it is about 4.1915

For which interval does this quadratic inequality hold true? 6x − x2 − 8 &gt; 0
xz_007 [3.2K]
6x-x^2-8 \ \textgreater \ 0 \\&#10;-x^2+6x-8\ \textgreater \ 0 \\&#10;-x^2+2x+4x-8\ \textgreater \ 0 \\&#10;-x(x-2)+4(x-2)\ \textgreater \ 0 \\&#10;(-x+4)(x-2)\ \textgreater \ 0 \\ \\&#10;\hbox{the zeros:} \\&#10;(-x+4)(x-2)=0 \\&#10;-x+4=0 \ \lor \ x-2=0 \\&#10;x=4 \ \lor \ x=2

The coefficient of x is negative, so the parabola opens downwards. The values greater than 0 are between the zeros.
The solution set for the inequality is:
x \in (2,4)

The answer is B.
