Question help in statistics, what does df denote? if a simple random sample of 2424 speeds of cars on california highway 405 i

s to be used to test the claim that the sample values are from a population with a mean greater than the posted speed limit of 65 mi/h, what is the specific value of df?

N = 2424 is the sample size (amount of cars being sampled)
df = degrees of freedom
df = n-1
df = 2424-1
df = 2423

Side Note: if there is a typo and the sample size should be n = 24 (instead of 2424), then the df would be df = n-1=24-1 = 23

Suppose that the position of one particle at time is given by x1=3sin t, y1 = 2 cos t, 0 ≤ t ≤ 2π and the position of a second p
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

there is no collision between the particles

Step-by-step explanation:

for the first particle

x1=3sin t, y1 = 2 cos t, 0 ≤ t ≤ 2π

for the second particle

x2 = -3 + cos t, y2 = 1 + sin t, 0 ≤ t ≤ 2π

then for the collision

x1=x2 → 3*sin t = -3 + cos t → sin t= -1 + (cos t)/3→ 1+ sin t = (1/3)cos t

y1=y2 → 1 + sin t = 2 cos t → (1/3)cos t = 2 cos t →(1/3) = 2

since 1/3 ≠ 2 there is no collision between the particles

TO TRANSMIT INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET, LARGE FILES ARE BROKEN INTO PACKETS OF SMALLER SIZES. EACH PACKET HAS 1,500 BYTES OF IN
stich3 [128]

Answer:

A. It would be needed 20 packets to transmit 30,000 bytes of information and B. 45'000,000 (45 million) of bytes could be transmitted in 30,000 packets.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information provided to us for solving the question:

Size of each packet of information = 1,500 bytes

Number of packets = P

Number of bytes of information = B

2. Let's answer the questions:

A. How many packets would be needed to transmit 30,000 bytes of information?

P = 30,000 ÷ 1,500

P = 20

It would be needed 20 packets to transmit 30,000 bytes of information

B. How much information could be transmitted in 30,000 packets?

B = 30,000 * 1,500

B = 45'000,000

45'000,000 (45 million) of bytes could be transmitted in 30,000 packets.
