The gauge pressure of the pipe is 2.234 ×10⁴ Pa, if the pipe is changed for another twice the area.

To find the gauge pressure the values given are,

speed of water = 2.5 m/s

Gauge pressure = 2×10⁴  Pa

What is pressure?

Definition:

      Pressure can be defined as the total applied force per unit of area. The pressure depends both on externally applied force as well the area on which it is applied.

To find the gauge pressure first we have use continuity equation,

A ₁V₁ = A₂V₂

By the given condition: As the area is increased to twice the original area

A ₁V₁ = 2A₁V₂

A₁ gets cancelled on both the sides,

V₂ =V₁/2

    =2.5 /2

V₂=1.25 m/s

Then, substituting the values in Bernoulli's equation,

Equation is given as,

P₁ + 1/2 ρV₁² = P₂ + 1/2 ρV₂²

Taking 1/2 ρ as common,

P₂ =  2×10⁴ + 1/2 ×1000×(2.5² -1.25²)

    = 2×10⁴ + 2343.75

    =22343.75 Pa

    =2.234 ×10⁴ Pa

Thus, if the pipe is changed for another twice the area then the gauge pressure is 2.234 ×10⁴ Pa.

What does it mean to have an acceleration of -10 m/s^2 when the velocity is 80 m/s?
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

1,3

Explanation:

As the acceleration is -10m/s^2 , that means deceleration is occurring. That means, the object is slowing down.

v=u-at

or, 0=80-10t

or, t=8 seconds

So, the object will stop in 8 seconds.

So, the correct answers are 1 and 3.

Hope, this helps you.

Explain the relationship between resistance and the velocity of shortening.
butalik [34]
The velocity of shortening refers to the speed of the contraction from the muscle shortening while lifting a load. The relationship between the resistance and velocity of shortening is inverse. The greater the resistance, the shorter the velocity of shortening and the smaller the resistance, the larger the velocity of shortening.

Hopefully this help :)

A ball of mass 0.500 kg is carefully balanced on a shelf that is 2.70 m above the ground. What is its gravitational potential en
ratelena [41]

Answer:

The gravitational potential energy of the ball is 13.23 J.

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the ball, m = 0.5 kg

height of the shelf, h = 2.7 m

The gravitational potential energy is given by;

P.E = mgh

where;

m is mass of the ball

g is acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

h is height of the ball

Substitute the givens and solve for gravitational potential energy;

PE = (0.5 x 9.8 x 2.7)

P.E = 13.23 J

Therefore, the gravitational potential energy of the ball is 13.23 J.

What is the forms of energy given below.
Damm [24]

Answer:

Lightening of the table lamp

Explanation:

Energy has a different form of energy. In physics, the capacity of the form of energy is work. The energy can exist in the form of thermal, potential, kinetic, chemical and electrical, and nuclear. There are other forms of energy such as work and heat.

The energy is designated according to the nature of the objects. So that when heat transferred it has been changed into thermal. All the forms of energy are related to the motion of an object. Energy can neither destroyed or created.

Why should it take significantly more energy to move a beam of alpha particles than a beam of beta minus (β–) particles?
a_sh-v [17]
An 'alpha particle' is the same thing as the nucleus of a helium atom ...
a little bundle made of 2 protons and 2 neutrons.

A 'beta' particle is an electron.

The mass of an alpha particle is more than 7,000 times the mass of
an electron, so it certainly takes more energy to get it moving.
