Nurse recognize that patient purple stretch marks  on abdomen , breast , under arms and fatty hump. She should encourage the patient to have low sodium and high potassium diet.

There should be adequate potassium in diet and the elevation of cortisol level causes hypokalemia. Cushing's syndrome happens when you have too many corticosteroids in your body. This disorder starts form the pituitary gland  and this condition is known as cushing's syndrome . That gland is too much adrenocortropin hormone.

This syndrome is caused when body is exposure to an excess of hormone. Cortisol affects tissues and organs in the body. There is no way to prevent a tumor that causes cushing's syndrome.
