The encomienda was an example of imposing old world culture on natives of the new world and it was a system of mutual obligations between indigenous people and colonists.

What was the encomienda?

It was the system where Spanish adventurers and settlers were granted the legal right to extract forced labour from indigenous tribal chiefs in the Americas colonies of the Spanish Empire.

In return for this, the Europeans were expected to give military protection to the labourers and offer them the opportunity to be converted to Christianity by funding a parish priest.

anygoal [31]

Answer:

The answer is "external attribution".

Explanation:

This is a person's conviction which events in their life, for better or worse, were affected by powers and circumstances outside their control. It prevents the person from accepting credit or blame for the actions and is often seen as a "failure to take individual accountability." In this, the People infer that a person's conduct is attributable to systemic, or situational, causes in an external, or contextual, identification.

Do you think a situation like the Salem Witch Trials could happen in the present day? Why or why not? Explain your opinion in at
Serggg [28]

Answer:

Absolutely.

Explanation:

There have even BEEN "trials" for people today, after all of which they are found innocent. Cancel culture has ramped up these standards, and people today are willing to believe most rumors they hear. Social Media provides false information and false credibility, often due to infographic formatting. Political campaigns often follow this same scheme, calling the other person out on something which has minimal evidence, and convincing millions that it is true because they trust that political candidate. Not only could the Salem Witch Trials happen today, they ARE happening, at a much higher rate even, than before.
