The value of the composite function is 20

Composite function is also known as function of a function

Given the following expression as shown below;

f(x)= 2x^2 -4x +9

g(x)= 4x +1

Determine (fog)(x)

f(g(x) = f(4x+1)

f(4x+1) = 2(4x+1)^2-4(4x+1)+9

f(4x+1) = 2(16x^2+8x+1)-16x-4+9
f(4x+1) =13x^2+16x+2-16x+5

f(4x+1) = 13x^2 + 7

If the value of x is -1, hence;

f(4x+1) = 13(-1)^2 + 7

f(4x+1) = 20

Hence the value of the composite function is 20
