20. Joe is standing on top of Marina Towers looking at the Leo Burnett World Headquarters building across the Chicago River. It

is 880 feet between buildings. Joe finds the angle of elevation to the top of the Burnett building to be 8 degrees and the angle of depression to the ground level to be 20 degrees. How tall is the Burnett building to the nearest foot?

The height of the Burnett building to the nearest foot be is 444 feet

What is angle of elevation and depression?

The angle from the horizontal to a point or the line of sight is measured with angles of elevation and depression.

when the points is high above the line of sight we have angle of elevation however when the line of sight is below the horizontal we have angle of depression

Given data

distance between the two buildings ( horizontal ) = 880 feet

angle of elevation = 8 degrees

angle of depression = 20 degrees

applying Trigonometry relations

for angle of elevation

tan 8 = h1 / 880

h1 = 123.676 feet

for angle of depression

tan 20 = h2 / 880

h2 = =880 * tan 20

h2 = 320.294

let the height of the Burnett building to the nearest foot be h

h = h1 + h2

h = 123.676 + 320.294

h = 443.97

h = 444 feet

WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

Weighted\ Average = 73

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Lab = 21\%

Tests = 25\%

Exam = 29\%

Lab\ Score = 60

First\ Test = 81

Second\ Test = 69

Exam = 79

Required

The weighted average

To do this, we simply multiply each score by the corresponding worth.

i.e.

Weighted\ Average = Lab\ worth * Lab\ score + Tests\ worth * Tests\ score.....

So, we have:

Weighted\ Average = 21\% * 60 + 25\% * 81 + 25\% * 69 + 29\% * 79

Using a calculator, we have:

Weighted\ Average = 73.01

Weighted\ Average = 73 --- approximated

Find the area of the figure. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
baherus [9]

Hello!

First of all, let's find the triangle. As we can see, it is eight units long and four units tall. We can use the triangle formula and half the product.

4(8)=32

32/2=16

Now we need to find the area of the semicircle. We can use circle formulas and half our final answer. We will find the area using A=\pir².

We know that the diameter of this circle is eight. Therefore our radius is 4.

A=4\pi²

A=16\pi

Now we multiply.

16\pi≈50.27

Now we add our triangle.

50.27+16=66.27

The nearest answer to this is B)66.2. It may have been a bit over as we used \pi, not 3.14.

I hope this helps!

Find what n equals 8(2n-2) = 4 - 4n (explanation please)
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

\huge\boxed{n=1}

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the value of n that satisfies this equation, we can perform a series of algebraic steps on it to solve for n.

 • 8(2n-2) = 4- 4n
 • Distribute in the 8 on the left side:
 • 16n-16=4-4n
 • Add 4n to both sides
 • 20n-16=4
 • Add 16 to both sides
 • 20n = 20
 • Divide both sides by 20
 • n=1

Therefore, n=1 is the value of n that satisfies this equation.

Hope this helped!
