The ccs required if methylprednisolone is available as 10 mg/2 cc is 11642.4 mcg

  • Here for 100 units of heparin 1 ml is required. Now for forty units of heparin (1/100)*40ml = 0.4ml of heparin is required.
  • For 10mg of methylprednisolone, 2mL is required. So for 5.0mg of methylprednisolone, (2/10)×5.0 mL = 1 mL is required.
  • For 125mg(0.125g) vancomycin, 1mL is required.So for 0.25g vancomycin, (1/0.125)×0.25mL = 2mL is required.
  • For 1kilogram per minute, the doctor ordered 2mcg of propofol.
  • For 10kilogram per minute, the doctor ordered 20mcg of propofol.
  • Now, for 44lb(= 44×2.205kg) per minute the doctor has to order 44×2.205×2 mcg = 194.04mcg of propofol .
  • So now per hour, the 44lb patient requires 194.04×60mcg = 11642.4 mcg of propofol.

A generic weak acid with formula HA has a Ka = 2.76 x 10-8. Calculate the Kb for the conjugate base of the acid.
Reika [66]

Answer:

3.62x10⁻⁷ = Kb

Explanation:

The acid equilibrium of a weak acid, HX, is:

HX + H₂O ⇄ X⁻ + H₃O⁺

Where Ka = [X⁻] [H₃O⁺] / [HX]

And basic equilibrium of the conjugate base, is:

X⁻ + H₂O ⇄ OH⁻ + HX

Where Kb = [OH⁻] [HX] / [X⁻]

To convert Ka to Kb we must use water equilibrium:

2H₂O ⇄ H₃O⁺ + OH⁻

Where Kw = 1x10⁻¹⁴ = [OH⁻] [H₃O⁺]

Thus, we can obtain:

Kw = Ka*Kb

Solving for Kb:

Kw / Ka = Kb

1x10⁻¹⁴ /  2.76x10⁻⁸ =

3.62x10⁻⁷ = Kb
