The Mass of ice is 69.12g.

What is mass?

It is a dimensionless quantity that expresses a particle or object's mass. The accepted unit of mass under the International System (SI) is the kilogram.

What is temperature?

Temperature is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles inside an object. The temperature increases cause these particles to move more quickly. It is possible to measure temperature using a thermometer or a calorimeter.

first calculate the amount of heat as follows;

q= mass of water C= (0°C-55°C)

=100.0g (4.186J/g°c) (-55°C)

=-23023J

Heat lost by water is gained by ice,

-q=m*ΔH

-23023J= m*333J/g

= 69.12g

Therefore, Mass of ice is 69.12g.

1. When an ionic bond forms between magnesium (Mg) and bromine (Br), which of the following occurs?
AleksAgata [21]

The correct answers are:

1. B. Mg loses two electrons.

When Mg and Br combine, 2 atoms of Br attaches itself to Mg. The chemical reaction is:

Mg + Br ---> MgBr2

Since Br is more electronegative than Mg, then Mg loses an electron per Br therefore losing 2 electrons.

2. D. An atom that gains electrons must be attracted to an atom that loses electrons.

An ionic bond is formed when one molecule is more electronegative than the other molecule which results in gaining and losing of electrons. The more electronegative molecule gains electron while the less electronegative loses electron.

In the process of oxidizing i− to i2, so42− is reduced to so2. how many moles of so2 are produced in the formation of one mole o
mafiozo [28]
The balance chemical equation is follow,

                    2 I⁻  + SO₄²⁻  +  4 H⁺    →    I₂  +  SO₂  +  2 H₂O

According to this reaction, 2 moles of I⁻ reacts with 1 mole of SO₄²⁻ to produce 1 mole of I₂ and 1 mole of SO₂.

Result:
          So with the formation of 1 mole of I₂, 1 mole of SO₂ is produced.

How many moles of arsenic atoms are in 3.2 x 1021 atoms of arsenic?
GenaCL600 [577]
To convert atoms to moles, we need Avogadro's number (1 mol= 6.02 x 10²³ atoms)

3.2 x10^{21} atoms  (\frac{1 mol Arsenic}{6.02x10^{23} atoms} )= 0.00532 mol Arsenic
