A mutual electrical attraction between the nuclei and valence electrons of different atoms that binds the atoms together is called a (c) chemical bond.

In order for molecules and crystals to form, atoms or ions must maintain a long-lasting attraction to one another. The formation of the bond can take place either through the exchange of electrons, as in the case of covalent bonds, or through the interaction of ions with opposite charges, as in the case of ionic bonds.

Since opposite electric charges attract, the positively charged protons within a nucleus and the negatively charged electrons around it attract one another. When an electron is located in between two nuclei, it will experience attraction to both of the nuclei, while the nuclei will experience attraction toward the electrons. This attraction results in the formation of a (c) chemical bond known as a covalent bond.

Why Thioacetamide is heated?
Akimi4 [234]

Thioacetamide is a synthetic, colorless crystalline solid that is soluble in water and ethanol. Thioacetamide is currently only used as a replacement for hydrogen sulfide in qualitative analysis. When heated to decomposition, it emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides.

What units do chemists normally use for density of liquids, solids and gas? Explain the
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

We can define density as per unit volume. The SI unit to measure the density of solid, liquid and gas is kilogram per cubic metre (kg/m3) and in the centimeter–gram–second system of units (cgs unit) is gram per cubic centimeter (g/cm3).

John finds a rock that contains large, light-colored mineral crystals. the rock shows no sign of being altered by heat or pressu
cupoosta [38]

From the above statement, John can infer that the rock underwent metamorphism and also is not altered by heat or pressure.

Explanation:

 • Metamorphic rock is an igneous sedimentary rock and although when put through heat the rock becomes hot but does not alter its shape or melt. If the rock melts then it is only an igneous rock and not a sedimentary one.
 • During metamorphism, the chemical and the mineral content of prolith are changed due to changes in the environment based on physical and chemical conditions.
 • Even though the rocks remain solid, fluid is present between the macroscopic spaces.
 • This gives "The Geologist" accurate information of what happens beneath the earth during the formation of mountains.
 • Metamorphic rocks are like probes that go down the earth and comes back giving information of what happens underneath the surface.

How does concentration affect our daily lives in science?
statuscvo [17]

1. Increasing the concentration of one or more reactants will often increase the rate of reaction. This occurs because a higher concentration of a reactant will lead to more collisions of that reactant in a specific time period.

2. Physical state of the reactants and surface area.
