Chemistry

From the calculation, the partial pressure of Cl2 is 1.98 atm. Option B

What is the equilibrium constant?

The term equilibrium constant refers to the value that shows us the extent to which reactants are converted into products. We know that the equilibrium constant can only be obtained by the use of the equilibrium partial pressures of each of the species.

Thus we have;

K = p PCl3 . pCl2/pPCl5

p PCl3 = partial pressure of PCl3

pCl2 = partial pressure of Cl2

pPCl5 = partial pressure of PCl5

K = equilibrium constant

Substituting values;

1.05 = 0.463 * pCl2/0.875

pCl2 = 1.05 * 0.875/0.463

pCl2 = 1.98 atm

Which factors determine the length of a bond between two elements?
Tanya [424]

Answer:

The length of the bond is determined by the number of bonded electrons (the bond order). The higher the bond order, the stronger the pull between the two atoms and the shorter the bond length. Generally, the length of the bond between two atoms is approximately the sum of the covalent radii of the two atoms.

If the volume of a solution is 25.6 L and its molarity is 8.20 M, how many moles of solute are
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

210 moles

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Volume of solution = 25.6 L

Molarity = 8.20 M

Mole of solute =?

Molarity is simply defined as the mole of solute per unit litre of water. Mathematically, it can be expressed as:

Molarity = mole /Volume

With the above formula, the mole of solute dissolved can be obtained as follow:

Volume of solution = 25.6 L

Molarity = 8.20 M

Mole of solute =?

Molarity = mole /Volume

8.20 = mole / 25.6

Cross multiply

Mole = 8.20 × 25.6

Mole = 209.92 ≈ 210 moles

Thus, the mole of solute dissolved in the solution is 210 moles

1.00 mL of 12.0 M HCl is added to 1.00 L of a buffer that contains 0.110 M HNO2 and 0.170 M NaNO2. How many moles of HNO2 and Na
eimsori [14]

Answer:

Moles of NaNO2 = 0.158

Moles of HNO2 final = 0.098

Explanation:

Given

Moles of HCl = 12

Moles of HNO2 = 0.11

Moles of NaNO2 = 0.170

HCl +NaNO2 --> HNO2 + NaCl

1 mole of HCl react with one mole of NaNO2 to produce 1 mole of NaCl and 1 mole of HNO2

Moles of NaNO2 = 0.17 - 0.012 = 0.158

Moles of HNO2 final = 0.11 - 0.012 = 0.098
