Beryllium Oxide has a molecular formula Be-O

% covalent character in Be-O = 100 - % ionic character in Be-O

Now,

% ionic character = {1 - exp[(-0.25)(E(Be)-E(O))²]}*100

where,

E(Be) and E(O) are the electronegativity values of Be and O

Based on the Paulings scale:-

E(Be) = 1.57

E(O) = 3.44

% ionic = {1 - exp[(-0.25)(1.57-3.44)²]}*100 = 58.28%

Therefore, % covalent = 100 -58.28 = 41.72%

Ans: b) 41 percent

A cylindrical tube 13.5 cm high and 4.5 cm in diameter is used to collect blood samples. How many cubic decimeters (dm3) of bloo
Aleks [24]

Answer:

The cylindrical tube can hold 0.215 cubic decimeters of blood.

Explanation:

Diameter of the cylindrical tube = d = 4.5 cm

r = d/2 ,r = 2.25 cm

Height of the cylindrical tube = h = 13.5 cm

Volume of the cylinder = V = \pi r^2h

V=3.14\times (2.25 cm)^2\times 13.5 cm

V=214.6 cm^3=0.2146 dm^3\approx 0.215 dm^3

1 cm^3=0.001 dm^3

The cylindrical tube can hold 0.215 cubic decimeters of blood.

What is the temperature (°C) of 1.75 g of O2 gas occupying 4.60 L at 1.00 atm?
julsineya [31]

Given- m= 1.75 g

Now moles of O2 gas= Mass/ Molar mass

n = 1.75/32

V= 2L

P= 1atm

R=0.0821.....Constant

As PV=nRT

=> T=PV/nR

= 1* 2/ (1.75/32)*0.0821 K

= 2*32/1.75* 0.0821 K

= 445.45 K

= (445.45- 273.15) degrees celsius

= 172.30 degrees celsius..... ANSWER
