Hello!

1) Sample

The students in the elementary school are just a sample or example of what children 8-11 think like. The thing is, not every single kid is just like the kids at Lincoln. This sample is just to find the basics. Testing the entire population (which would be impossible) would provide the most accurate result, but as that is a very difficult thing to do people use samples, similar to a ratio.

2) Population

The population is the WHOLE of all the children ages 8-11. The kids at Lincoln are just a sample of this. The population is every child who is 8-11, and this cannot be tested very easily.

I hope this helps!

What is the range of the equation
a_sh-v [17]

The range of the equation is y>2

Explanation:

The given equation is y=2(4)^{x+3}+2

We need to determine the range of the equation.

<u>Range:</u>

The range of the function is the set of all dependent y - values for which the function is well defined.

Let us simplify the equation.

Thus, we have;

y=2 \cdot 4^{x+3}+2

This can be written as y=2^{1+2(x+3)}+2

Now, we shall determine the range.

Let us interchange the variables x and y.

Thus, we have;

x=2^{1+2(y+3)}+2

Solving for y, we get;

x-2=2^{1+2(y+3)}

Applying the log rule, if f(x) = g(x) then \ln (f(x))=\ln (g(x)), then, we get;

\ln \left(2^{1+2(y+3)}\right)=\ln (x-2)

Simplifying, we get;

(1+2(y+3)) \ln (2)=\ln (x-2)

Dividing both sides by \ln (2), we have;

2 y+7=\frac{\ln (x-2)}{\ln (2)}

Subtracting 7 from both sides of the equation, we have;

2 y=\frac{\ln (x-2)}{\ln (2)}-7

Dividing both sides by 2, we get;

y=\frac{\ln (x-2)-7 \ln (2)}{2 \ln (2)}

Let us find the positive values for logs.

Thus, we have,;

x-2>0

     x>2

The function domain is x>2

By combining the intervals, the range becomes y>2

Hence, the range of the equation is y>2

9. In the figure below, the area of Square 1 is
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

25 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The side length of square 1 is sqrt(169) = 13

The side length of square 2 is 48/4 = 12

From the Pythagorean Triple 13 - 12 - 5, the side length of square 3 is 5

Finally, 5 * 5 is 25

Mr. Robinson washed 2/5 of his laundry. His son washed 1/4 of his laundry. Who washed more? How much laundry still need to be wa
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

Mr.Robinson; 27/40 i think.

Step-by-step explanation: To begin solving you have to make both of the denominators the same by multiplying 2/5 by 4 and 1/4 by 5 giving you 8/20 and 5/20. From there i'm pretty sure you just add the two fractions to get 13/40 leaving 27/40 to be washed.
