You have to take in to consideration why the patient is there. When it comes to the menu and helping them pick their meal you should always check for health restrictions or allergic reactions. A lot of the time it’s on their chart. Never be Afraid to ask the patient more questions then usual. Better to be safe then sorry

If you mean resident as in patient
i believe that the nurse should do what is best for the patient to eat
but if you are not reffering to the patient as the resident then im not sure
