What is the study of kinematics based upon ?<br><br>thankyou ~
NikAS [45]

Kinematics is the study of the motion of a system of bodies without directly considering the forces or potential fields affecting the motion. In other words, kinematics examines how momentum and energy are shared among interacting bodies.

A stone is dropped into a river from a bridge at a height h above the water. Another stone is thrown vertically down at a time t
Mumz [18]

Answer:

v_{y_0} = \frac{\frac{g}{2}t(t - 2\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}})}{\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t}

Explanation:

We will apply the equations of kinematics to both stones separately.

First stone:

Let us denote the time spent after the second stone is thrown as 'T'.

y - y_0 = v_{y_0}(t+T) + \frac{1}{2}a(t+T)^2\\0 - h = 0 + \frac{1}{2}(-g)(t+T)^2\\(t+T)^2 = \frac{2h}{g}\\T = \sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}}-t

Second stone:

y - y_0 = v_{y_0}T + \frac{1}{2}aT^2\\0 - h = v_{y_0}T -\frac{1}{2}gT^2\\-h = v_{y_0}(\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t) - \frac{g}{2}(\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t)^2\\-h = v_{y_0}(\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t) - \frac{g}{2}(\frac{2h}{g} + t^2 - 2t\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}})\\-h = v_{y_0}\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - v_{y_0}t - h -\frac{g}{2}t^2 + gt\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}}\\v_{y_0}(\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t) = \frac{g}{2}t^2 - gt\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}}\\v_{y_0} = \frac{\frac{g}{2}t(t - 2\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}})}{\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}} - t}

Why do surface winds tend to cross the isobars?
scZoUnD [109]
Geostrophic winds blows parallel to the isobars. That is because the Coriolis force and pressure gradient force ( PGF ) are in balance. But near the surface the friction can act to change the direction of the wind and to slow it down. Coriolis force decreases at the surface and PGF stays the same. The difference in terrain conditions affects how much friction is exerted. Hills and forests force the wind to change direction more than flat areas. Answer: Friction reduces the speed so Coriolis is weakened.

Two identical waves are traveling toward each other in the same medium. One has a positive amplitude, meaning that its peaks onl
Olin [163]
The correct answer is Destructive Interference.

Consider the image attached below. Two waves are travelling towards each other. Blue wave always has a positive peak and the red wave always has a negative peak.

Now imagine these waves are moving through a rope. If blue waves will try to move the rope in positive direction, the red wave will pull it down, and thus the two waves will cancel the effect of each other. Thus resulting in a destructive interference.
