Parallel lines have the same slope...so if 1 line has a slope of 8, then a parallel line will also have a slope of 8

Parallel lines will have the same slope. This can be written as:
slope of line 1 = slope of line 2
Therefore, if the slope of line 1 (green) is 8, the slope of line 2 must be 8 also.
