Parallel lines have the same slope...so if 1 line has a slope of 8, then a parallel line will also have a slope of 8

Simply for points...

Parallel lines will have the same slope. This can be written as:
slope of line 1 = slope of line 2
Therefore, if the slope of line 1 (green) is 8, the slope of line 2 must be 8 also.

In the accompanying diagram of parallelogram ABCD, LaTeX: m\angle A=x+17 m ∠ A = x + 17 and LaTeX: m\angle C=2x-4 m ∠ C = 2 x −
jek_recluse [69]
Answer:
x = 21

Explanation:
In a parallelogram, each two opposite angles are equal.

In the given parallelogram ABCD, we can note that angles A and C are opposite angles. This means that they have equal measures.

Therefore:
∠A = ∠C
x + 17 = 2x - 4
17 + 4 = 2x - x
x = 21

We can check:
angle A = 21 + 17 = 38°
angle C = 2(21) - 4 = 38°
They are equal

Hope this helps :)

Simplify the expression by using a double-angle formula. 2 sin 31°cos 31°
qwelly [4]

The double angle formula for the sine is

\sin(2x) = 2\sin(x)\cos(x)

The right hand side is exactly your expression, where x = 31^\circ

So, rewriting the expression from right to left, we have

2\sin(31^\circ)\cos(31^\circ) = \sin(2\cdot 31^\circ) = \sin(61^\circ)
