A hot air balloon rising vertically is tracked by an observer located 5 miles from the lift-off point. At a certain moment, the

angle between the observer's line-of-sight and the horizontal is π3 , and it is changing at a rate of 0.1 rad/min. How fast is the balloon rising at this moment?

Answer:

1.6 miles/min..

Explanation:

Let y be the height of the balloon at time t. Our goal is to compute the balloon's velocity at the moment .

balloon's velocity dy/dt when θ =π/3 radian

so we can restate the problem as follows:

Given dθ/dt = 0.1 rad/min at θ = π/3

from the figure in the attachment

tanθ = y/5

Differentiating w.r.t "t"

sec^2 θ×dθ/dt = 1/4(dy/dt)

⇒ dy/dt = (4/cos^2 θ)dθ/dt

At the given moment θ =π/3 and dθ/dt = 0.1 rad/min.

therefore putting the value we get

\frac{dy}{dt} = \frac{4}{\frac{1}{2}^2 }\times0.1

solving we get

= 1.6 miles/min

So the balloon's velocity at this moment is 1.6 miles/min.

Given that the velocity of blood pumping through the aorta is about 30 cm/s, what is the total current of the blood passing thro
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

94.248 g/sec

Explanation:

For solving the total current of the blood passing first we have to solve the cross sectional area which is given below:

A_1 = \pi R^2\\\\A_1 = \pi (1)^2\\\\A_1 = 3.1416 cm^2

And, the velocity of blood pumping is 30 cm^2

Now apply the following formula to solve the total current

Q = \rho A_1V_1\\\\Q = (1)(3.1416)(30)\\\\

Q =  94.248 g/sec

Basically we applied the above formula So, that the total current could come

A car is moving at 14 m/s. After 30 s, its speed inncreased to 20 m/s. What is the acceleration over time
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Answer:

0.2 m/s^2

Explanation:

initial speed 14m/s

final speed 20m/s

acceleration:

(20m/s - 14m /s) /30s = (6m/s)/30s = 0.2 m/s^2

Jet aircraft maintenance crews are required to wear protective earplugs. Members of a particular crew wear earplugs that reduce
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

So the sound intensity level they would experience without the earplugs is 110.32dB.

Explanation:

Given data

Sound intensity by factor =215

Sound intensity level =87 dB

To find

Sound intensity level they would experience without the earplugs

Solution

First we need to find the new sound intensity level

So

I_{n}=215(10^{\frac{87}{10} } )\\I_{n}=1.08*10^{11})

The dB can be calculated as:

dB=10log(I_{n})\\

Substitute the given values

dB=10log(1.08*10^{11})\\dB=110.32dB

So the sound intensity level they would experience without the earplugs is 110.32dB.
