Answer : The halogen group of non metals and metalloids these regions will exhibit the trend of having positive and negative oxidation numbers. They are placed on right side of the modern periodic table. The trend of having two oxidation states where one is positive and other is negative in the Groups 13 to 16 of the modern periodic table which contains one or more metalloids, in addition to metals, nonmetals, or both.

The region(s) of the periodic table which contains elements that can adopt both positive and negative oxidation numbers would be the nonmetal region. As you look at the periodic table, you can see that some elements on the right side of the table would have two oxidation states written one positive and other a negative sign.

Chemistry of Volcanic Gases: Balance the following reactions that occur among volcanic gases. Place coefficients directly in fro
Firdavs [7]
In balancing reactions, it is important to remember that each of the side in the reaction should have the same number of elements. We do as follows:

2SO2(g) + O2(g) -> 2SO3(g)

H2S(g) + 3/2O2(g) -> SO2(g) + H2O(g)

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

39. Which bond is least polar?
A) As-C1
B) Bi-CI
C) P-CI
D) N-C1
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

D) N-Cl.

Explanation:

The electronegativity of the elements in Group 5 (N. P As and Bi) decreases as we go down the Group so N is the most electronegative and chlorine is less able to draw electrons away from N than from the other elements in Group 5.
