A popular retail store knows that the purchase amounts by its customers is a random variable that follows a normal distribution

with a mean of $30 and a standard deviation of $9. what is the probability that a randomly selected customer will spend between $20 and $35 at this store? place your answer, rounded to 4 decimal places, in the blank. for example, 0.3456 would be a legitimate entry.

We are going to use a continuity correction factor. When you use a normal distribution to get the estimated binomial distribution, you're going to have to use a continuity correction factor. So with this, the data will become from 20 - 35 it will now become 19.5 to 35.5.

So we are going to use the z table for this problem. So if we are looking for the z value, the formula would be: x – μ / σ

get the value of the first z value:

z1 = (19.5 - 30) / 9 = -1.167

get the value of the second z value:

z2 = (35.5 - 30) / 9 = 0.61

So getting the probability of both:

P(-1.167 < z < 0.61) = P(Z ≤ b) – P(Z ≤ a) = 0.6075

With continuity correction. 20-35 becomes 19.5 to 35.5
z1 = (19.5-30)/9 = -1.167
z2 = (35.5-30)/9 = 0.61
P(-1.167 < z < 0.61) = 0.6075

umka2103 [35]

Answer:

1

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not quite sure but I think it is the 1st place digit. Because if you set it up as long division the 4 can divide into the 5. Thus, making this the the first place of the digit of the quotient. Hope this helps

For the right triangles below, find the exact values of the side lengths b and d.
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The question lacks the required diagram. Find the diagram attached below;

According to the first triangle, taking 30° as the reference angle, the opposite side of the triangle will be 5 and the adjacent will be the unknown side "b"

According to SOH, CAH, TOA;

tanθ = opposite/adjacent (using TOA)

Given;

θ = 30°, opposite = 5 and adjacent = b

tan30° = 5/b

b = 5/tan30°

b = 5/(1/√3)

b = 5*√3/1

b = 5√3

According to the 45° triangle, the opposite side of the triangle will be d and the hypotenuse will be 7

Using SOH;

sinθ = opposite/hypotenuse

Given;

θ = 45°, opposite = d and adjacent = 7

sin45° = d/7

d = 7sin45°

d = 7(1/√2)

d = 7/√2

Rationalize 7/√2

= 7/√2*√2/√2

=7√2/2

Hence the value of d is 7√2/2
