Because the distance that each object moves is in inverse proportion to their masses. That means the earth moves such a little tiny tiny tiny bit that you can't see it. but you're right. It's important to understand that when you drop a ball the ball and the earth both move toward each other.

The conservation of momentum states that the total momentum in a system is constant if there is no external force acting on the system. The total momentum in the gun bullet system is 0 so it must stay that way.

The momentum of the bullet is mv = 0.015*500=7.5
The momentum of the gun must be the same to keep the total momentum of the system equal to zero, so we know that p = 7.5 for the gun.
Substituting this in we get:

7.5=3.1x
x=7.5/3.1
x=2.42

So the speed of the gun is 2.4m/s.

Remember that w=mg where w is weight in Newtons, m is mass in kilograms, and g is gravity in

m/s2

. For example, for Earth, 445 N = 45.4 × 9.8

m/s2

:Notice that the x-axis values will be gravity in

m/s2

, which is already given in the table, and the y-axis values will be the weight in Newtons. Remember to round your weights to a whole number, and to enter the points starting with the lowest gravity (moon, then Mars, then Venus, then Earth).

Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

The angular magnification is M = 2.808

Explanation:

From the question we are told

           The focal length is  f = 8.9cm

          The near point is n_p = 25.0cm

The angular magnification is mathematically represented as

                          M = \frac{n_p}{f}

Substituting values

                        M = \frac{25}{8.9}

                           = 2.808
