Isotopes of an element will contain the same number of protons and electrons but will differ in the number of neutrons they contain. In other words, isotopes have the same atomic number because they are the same element but have a different atomic mass because they contain a different number of neutrons

A plane flies from base camp to lake a, 200 km away in the direction 20.0° north of east. after dropping off supplies it flies t
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Distance of lake a is 200 km at 20 degree north of east

distance between lake a and b is 230 km at 30 degree west of north

now the distance between base and lake b is given as

d = d_1 + d_2

given that

d_1 = 200 cos20 i + 200 sin20 j

d_1 = 187.94 i + 68.4 j

d_2 = -230 sin30 i + 230 cos30 j

d_2 = -115 i + 199.2 j

now the total distance is

d = (187.94 - 115)i + (199.2 + 68.4)j

d = 72.94 i + 267.6 j

now the magnitude of the distance is given as

d = \sqrt{72.94^2 + 267.6^2}

d = 277.4

also the direction is given as

\theta = tan^{-1}\frac{267.6}{72.94}

\theta = 74.7 degree

<em>so it is 277.4 km at 74.7 degree North of East</em>

you have been called to testify as a as an expert witness in a trial involving a head-on collision Car A weighs 1515 pounds and
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

70.6 mph

Explanation:

Car A mass= 1515 lb

Car B mass=1125 lb

Speed of car B is 46 miles/h

Distance before locking, d=19.5 ft

Coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.75

Initial momentum of car B=mv where m is mass and v is velocity in ft/s

46 mph*1.46667=67.4666668 ft/s

Momentum_B=1125*67.4666668 ft/s

Initial momentum of car A is given by

Momentum_A=1515v_a where v_a is velocity of A

Taking East as positive and west as negative then the sum of initial momentum is

1515v_a-(1125*67.4666668 ft/s)

The common velocity is represented as v_c hence after collision, the final momentum is

Momentum_final=(m_a+m_b)v_c=(1515+1125)v_c=2640v_c

From the law of conservation of linear momentum, sum of initial and final momentum equals each other hence

1515v_a-(1125*67.4666668 ft/s)= 2640v_c

The acceleration of two cars a=-\mug=-0.75*32.17=-24.1275 ft/s^{2}

From kinematic equation

v^{2}=u^{2}+2as hence

v^{2}-u^{2}=2as

0^{2}-(v_c)^{2}=2*-24.1275*19.5

v_c=\sqrt{2*24.1275*19.5}=30.67 ft/s

Substituting the value of v_c in equation 1515v_a-(1125*67.4666668 ft/s)= 2640v_c

1515v_a-(1125*67.4666668 ft/s)= 2640*30.67

1515v_a=(1125*67.4666668 ft/s)+2640*30.67

v_a=\frac {156868.8}{1515}=103.5438 ft/s

\frac {103.5438}{1.46667}=70.59787 mph\approx 70.60 mph

Find the velocity. 10 points. Will give brainliest!
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

6.060606...

Explanation:

To figure out velocity, you divide the distance by the time it takes to travel that same distance, then you add your direction to it. So the distance would be 1000m and the time would be 2 minutes and 45 seconds and if you convert the minutes into fractions you would get 165 seconds than you would divide 1000m by 165 seconds and you would get 6.060606... seconds as her average velocity
