Giant stars are older and hotter than dwarf stars. They can be thousands of times brighter than our Sun. They have low density (although they are large) as opposed to the white dwarf which is one of the celestial bodies with the highest density.
Among the giant stars we can mention the red giants and the blue giants.
The end of the lives of these stars is marked by explosive cosmic events, such as supernovae, which can give rise to black holes.
