Answer:

The displacement of the net from player 2 in component form = (-47.498î - 26.812j)

The displacement of the net from player 2 in statement form is 54.54 m and 29.44° (S of W) or 60.56° (W of S)

Explanation:

The sketch of the bearings described in the question is presented in the attached image to this solution.

Method 1

Using component method

Taking the player 1's position as the origin,

The displacement of the player 2 from the origin is (25î) m

The displacement of the net from the origin is 35[(sin θ)î + (cos θ)j]

But θ is the angle of the net's displacement reading from the positive x-axis in the anticlockwise direction. θ = 230°

Displacement of the net from the origin = 35[(cos 230°) + (cos 230°)]

= 35[-0.6428î - 0.7660j]

= (-22.498î - 26.812j) m

In component form, taking note of the directions of the respective displacements calculated (check the attached image)

(The displacement of the net from player 1) = (The displacement of player 2 from player 1) + (The displacement of the net from player 2)

Since we have agreed that player 1 is the origin

(The displacement of the net from origin) = (The displacement of player 2 from origin) + (The displacement of the net from player 2)

(-22.498î - 26.812j) = (25î) + (The displacement of the net from player 2)

The displacement of the net from player 2 = (-22.498î - 26.812j) - (25î) = (-47.498î - 26.812j)

The magnitude of this displacement = √[(-47.498)² + (-26.812)²]

= √(2,256.060004 + 718.883344) = 54.54 m

Direction = tan⁻¹ (-26.812/-47.498) = 209.44° (the signs on the components show that the direction is the third quadrant from the positive x-axis in the anti-clockwise direction)

Hence, the displacement of the net from player 2 is 54.54 m and 29.44° (S of W)

Method 2

Using trignometry,

We will use cosine and sine rule to obtain the required magnitude and direction of the displacement of the net from player 2

Cosine rule

Magnitude = √[35² + 25² - (2×25×35×cos 130°)] = √2,974.8783169514 = 54.54 m

Sine rule

(Sin θ)/35 = (Sin 130°)/54.54

Sin θ = (35 × Sin 130°)/54.54 = 0.4916

θ = Sin⁻¹ (0.4916) = 29.44°

This answer matches the answers from method 1.

Hope this Helps!!!

For a wavelength of 420 nm, a diffraction grating produces a bright fringe at an angle of 24°. For an unknown wavelength, the sa
Inessa [10]

Answer:

649.8420 nm

Explanation:

We have given \Theta _1=24^{\circ} \ and\ \Theta _2=39^{\circ}

\lambda _1=420\ nm we have to find unknown wavelength that is \lambda _2

The condition for constructive interference is dsin\Theta =n\lambda

Where d is distance between slits \Theta is angle of emergence and n is order of maxima

Using constructive interference equation

dsin\Theta _1=n\lambda _1 ---------eqn 1

dsin\Theta _2=n\lambda _2---------eqn 2

On dividing eqn 1 by eqn 2

\frac{\lambda _1}{\lambda _2}=\frac{sin\Theta _1}{sin\Theta _2}

\frac{420}{\lambda _2}=\frac{sin24^{\circ}}{sin39^{\circ}}

\lambda _2=649.8420\ nm

Which device transforms electrical energy to mechanical energy
Nonamiya [84]
Examples of devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy — in other words, devices that use electrical energy to move something — include:

the motor in today’s standard power drills
the motor in today’s standard power saws
the motor in an electric tooth brushes
the engine of an electric car
the motor in a fan
the motor in a remote control cars that runs on batteries. So your answer would be B. Motorsport

Which forces are shown on a free body diagram?
notsponge [240]

Answer:

What is a Free Body Diagram?

The free body diagram helps you understand and solve static and dynamic problem involving forces. It is a diagram including all forces acting on a given object without the other object in the system. You need to first understand all the forces acting on the object and then represent these force by arrows in the direction of the force to be drawn.

Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Both masses will have the same acceleration. The cart accelerates to the right with a magnitude of 4.9 m/s^{2}. The correct answer is 4.90 m/s^{2}

Given that a massless string connects a 1.00 kg mass to a 3.00 kg cart which is resting on a frictionless horizontal surface.

Let M = 1kg and m = 3 kg

Since the horizontal surface is frictionless, the tension in the string will be the same. when the mass is hanged over a frictionless pulley, the tension will also be the same.

When the mass is released, the cart accelerates to the right can be calculated  from Newton' second law of motion. That is,

M( g + a) = m(g - a)

1(9.8 + a) = 3( 9.8 - a)

9.8 +a = 29.4 - 3a

collect the like terms

4a = 19.6

a = 19.6/4

a = 4.9 m/s^{2}

Therefore, the cart accelerates to the right with a magnitude of 4.9 m/s^{2}. The correct answer is 4.90 m/s^{2}
