CaCl2 has one Ca^2+ ion and 2 Cl^- ions.It dissociates as follows CaCl2 -> Ca^2+ + 2Cl^- So we can see that when 1 CaCl2 dissolves we get 1 Ca2+ and 2Cl- Therefore, the concentration of Ca^+2 will be 1/2 that of Cl^- since there are 2 Cl for every Ca.</span>
