A .115 L sample of dry air has a pressure of 1.0895633 atm at 377 K. What is the volume of the sample if the temperature is incr
matrenka [14]

Answer:

V= 0.147 L

Explanation:

This is simply the application of combined gas law twice, to find the unknowns.

Combined gas law states that: PV = nRT

P= pressure of air

V= volume of air

n= moles of air

R= Universal gas constant ( 0.08205 L atm mol⁻¹ K⁻¹)

T= Absolute temperature in kelvin.

n=\frac{P * 0.115}{R * 377}

Now, applying the same gas law at 483K and substituting for n

V = \frac{P * 0.115}{R * 377} * \frac{R* 483}{P}

V= \frac{0.115 * 483}{377}

V= 0.147 L

Identify which best describes the energy used to pluck guitar strings to make sound. A) electrity b) electromagnetic c) heat d)
DochEvi [55]

The capability to do work is said to be energy. It can neither be created nor be destroyed according to law of conservation of energy. Energy exist in different forms depends upon the work to be done such as potential energy, kinetic energy, mechanical energy, heat energy etc.

Now, when the guitarist plucks the guitar strings to make sound, he uses mechanical energy and when guitarist plucks the guitar strings guitar produces sound energy also.

Thus, option (d) is the correct answer.

How many moles are contained in a 4.67-l sample of gas at 30 c and 199 kpa?
valentina_108 [34]

Using ideal gas equation,

PV=nRT

P=199 kpa

V=4.67 L

T=30+273K= 303K

n= number of moles of gas

R=8.321 L·kPa·K-1·mol-1

So using ideal gas equation,

n=PV/RT

=199*4.67/8.321*303\

=0.37 mol

What type(s) of intermolecular forces are expected between nocl molecules?
mina [271]
If you draw or search for the molecular geometry of NOCl, you would know that it has a bent shape. This bent shape is a characteristic of a polar molecule. The dominant intermolecular forces for polar compounds is the <em>dipole-dipole force</em>.
