Answer:

  • <em>You can determine through observation that a mixture is a suspension </em><u>from the fact that particles separate and a solid substance is formed at the bottom of the mixture.</u>

Explanation:

<em>Suspensions</em> are heterogenous mixtures where particles settle when times passes.

The partilces in suspensions are not dissolved (solvated by a solvent). The mixtures where the particles are dissolved are solutions. Then, solutions and supensions are different in that the former have the particles solvated and the latter not.

The particles in a solution are molecules or ions. Such solvated particles in a solution are very small; in comparison,the particles on a suspension are larger. Then, the weight of the particles in a suspension makes that they separate from the liquid and settle down.

The speed of light in a vacuum is 2.998 x 108 m/s. How long does it take for light to circumnavigate the Earth, which has a circ
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

0.13 s

Explanation:

We'll begin by converting 24900 mile to metres (m). This can be obtained as follow:

1 mile = 1609.344 m

Therefore,

24900 mile = 24900 mile × 1609.344 m / 1 mile

24900 mile = 4.01×10⁷ m

Finally, we shall determine the time taken for light to circumnavigate the Earth, this can be obtained as follow:

Distance = 4.01×10⁷ m

Speed = 2.998×10⁸ m/s

Time =?

Speed = distance / time

2.998×10⁸ = 4.01×10⁷ / time

Cross multiply

2.998×10⁸ × time = 4.01×10⁷

Divide both side by 2.998×10⁸

Time = 4.01×10⁷ / 2.998×10⁸

Time = 0.13 s

Thus, it will take 0.13 s for light to circumnavigate the Earth.

The density of acetic acid is 1.05 g/mL. What is the volume of 327 g of acetic acid
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

311.43\ \text{mL}

Explanation:

\rho = Density of acetic acid = 1.05\ \text{g/mL}

m = Mass of acetic acid = 327\ \text{g}

V = Volume

Density is given by

\rho=\dfrac{m}{V}\\\Rightarrow V=\dfrac{m}{\rho}\\\Rightarrow V=\dfrac{327}{1.05}\\\Rightarrow V=311.43\ \text{mL}

The volume of acetic acid is 311.43\ \text{mL}.
