Since he sold it for $75 more,

% Mark Up = Mark Up/ Cost Price   * 100%

% Mark Up =   75 / 125 * 100%

                   =   0.6  * 100% = 60%

Percent Mark Up = 60%.

Hope this explains it.

Mekhanik [1.2K]
<span>Given: (Key elements / factors) 15 Mi/Gal $4.35/Gal 1780 Mi 2 days 2 nights $95/night, +12% tax $35/day, +20% tip iPad- $589.95,+9.25% tax iPod- $265.95, +9.25% tax Find: Total expenses for the trip Solution: Gas- 1780 Mi / 15 Mi/gal = 118.67 gallons of gas 118.67 gal * $4.35/gal = $516.20 (total amount spent on gas) Hotel- 2 nights * $95.00/night = $190.00 $190.00 + ($190.00 * 0.12) = $212.80 (total amount for hotel with tax) Food- 2 days * $35.00/day = $70.00 $70.00 + ($70.00 * .20) = $84.00 (total amount spent on food with tip) Purchases- $589.95 + $265.95 = $855.90 $855.90 + (855.90 * 0.0925) = $935.07 (total amount spent on purchases with tax) Total Spent- $516.20 + $212.80 + $84.00 + $935.07 = $1748.07 (total amount spent on trip) Note: This is only for enough gas to get you to the convention, if you want to include the gas for the trip back, double the cost for gas ($516.20)</span>
