You need to do this in several steps.

1) Using the given length and width of the rectangle, find its area.
2) Then using the base and height of the triangle, find its area.
3) Since the areas are equal, set the expressions equal to each other, and solve for x.
4) Using the value of x you found, find the length and width of the rectangle and find its perimeter.

1) The area of the rectangle is A = LW
Area of Rectangle = (x + 2)x = x^2 + 2x

2) The area of the triangle is A = (1/2)bh
Area of Triangle = (1/2)(24)x = 12x

3) Set the areas equal and solve for x

x^2 + 2x = 12x

x^2 - 10x = 0

x(x - 10) = 0

x = 0 or x = 10

Since a width cannot be 0, we discard x = 0, and keep x = 10.

4) The length is x + 2 = 10 + 2 = 12
The width is x = 10

The perimeter is 2(L + W) = 2(10 + 2) = 2(22) = 44

The perimeter is 44 cm.

First you find how much the shape has dilated. To d ok that you divide the size of the size already given to you from the bigger shape from the same did if the smaller shape. So 58÷6=9.7. The shape grew by 9.7. To find x you use the similar side of the other shape again and multiy that size by 9.7. So 9.7×3=29.1

x=29.1

Is the sequence 3,6,9,12 geometric? True or false and why
IRINA_888 [86]
This sequence is not a geometric.
It is because, common ratio = 6/3 = 2
9/6 = 1.5

As the ratio's are not same, it is not a G.P

Hope this helps!

Determine whether the following sequence is arithmetic, geometric, or neither.
lawyer [7]

Answer:

arith

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's check whether or not this is a geometric series.

The first term is 1 1/3, or 4/3.

What would the common ratio be, to convert this 4/3 into the 2nd term, 2?

(4/3)r = 2, or r = 2(3/4) = 6/4 = 3/2.

Assuming that the common ratio is r = 3/2, will multiplying 2 by 3/2 result in the 3rd term, 2  2/3?  NO.  So this is NOT a geometric progression.

The difference between 1  1/3 and 2 is 2/3.  If we add 2/3 to 2, we get 2  2/3, which agrees with the given 3rd term.

If we add 2/3 to 2  2/3, do we get the fourth given term, 3  1/3?

2/3 + 2  2/3 is equivalent to 2  4/3, or 10/3, which is equivalent to 3  1/3.

Thus, this IS an arithmetic sequence, and the common difference is 2/3.

Triangle PQR is similar to triangle STU, where P, Q, and R correspond to S, T, and U,
Elden [556K]

Answer:

TU=36

Step-by-step explanation:

use the side lengths of PQR to determine the proportionality of the two triangles. 9/2=4.5 so, multiply 8 by 4.5 to find TU.
