That sounds like an extremely misleading question to me but it would be A since theres a 1/6 chance of getting a 2 on a die and there isnt a 1/2 in the answers so it is A

The situation is simultaneously rolling a dice and tossing a coin. In  this case, the probability of getting any number is equally 1/6 while that of getting either head or tail is 1/2. Hence the probability of getting a 2 or getting a heads is (1/6 * (1/2) or equal to 1/12. Answer is B

Mandy is building a rectangular garden pond with the area of 12ft^2. The length of pool needs to be 2 ft more than twice the wid
Genrish500 [490]

The length of rectangular pool is 6 ft and width of rectangular pool is 2 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Area of rectangular pool = 12 square feet

Let,

Width of pool = w

Length of pool = l = 2w+2

Area = Length * Width

12=(2w+2)*w\\12=2w^2+2w\\2w^2+2w-12=0

Dividing each term by 2;

\frac{2w^2}{2}+\frac{2w}{2}-\frac{12}{2}=0\\w^2+w-6=0\\w^2+3w-2w-6=0\\w(w+3)-2(w+3)=0\\(w+3)(w-2)=0\\

Either,

w+3 = 0       => w=-3

Or,

w-2=0          =>w=2

As width cannot be negative, therefore,

Width of rectangular pool = 2 ft

Length of rectangular pool = 2w+2 = 2(2)+2 = 4+2 = 6 ft

The length of rectangular pool is 6 ft and width of rectangular pool is 2 ft.

Solve the area formula for h
White raven [17]

The answer is C: h = \frac{2A}{b}

Starting with the given formula for the area, A = 1/2hb, the first step is to isolate h by using the multiplicative inverse of b, which is \frac{1}{b} on both sides of the equation:

A(\frac{1}{b})  =  \frac{1}{2}hb* (\frac{1}{b})

The result will be:

\frac{A}{b} = \frac{1}{2}h

The last step is to use the multiplicative inverse of \frac{1}{2}, which is 2 or \frac{2}{1} to further isolate the variable <em>h </em>:

\frac{A}{b} (\frac{2}{1}) = (\frac{2}{1}) \frac{1}{2} h

The formula for h will be:

h = \frac{2A}{b}  which is the option C in your question.
