Let r be the lesser root and r^2 be the greater.......the sum of the roots   = -b/a  = -[-6] / 1  = 6

So we have that

r^2 + r  = 6     →    r^2 + r - 6 = 0

Factor

(r + 3) (r - 2)   = 0

So r = -3    or   r = 2

Then r^2  = 9     or r^2  =4

And the product of the roots =  c/a   =  k/a  = k

So....k =   (-3)(9)   = -27     or k = (2)(4)  = 8

Check

x^2 - 6x - 27  = 0      factors as  (x + 3)(x - 9) = 0     and  the roots are -3 and 9

x^2 - 6x + 8  = 0      factors as (x -2) (x - 4) =0      and the roots are 2 and 4

alberto knows that all the lines and rays are congruent to each other . he reasons that all segments must therefore be congruent
saw5 [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Alberto is correct in reasoning that all lines and rays are congruent to each other but incorrect in his reasoning about the line segments.

Line segments are equal in measure only when they are equal in length. They can have any orientation on a plane.

Since, AB = 3 units

CD = 4 units

Therefore, AB ≠ CD

Error in AB ≅ CD

Harrizon [31]

Answer: 288pi in3

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a sphere= 4/3pir^3

R=6inches

V=4/3pir^3

V=4/3pi(6^3)

V=4/3pi(216)

V=864pi/3

V=288pi in^3

11/21 as a decimal and a percent
pochemuha

11/21 written as a decimal would be 0.52381 and in percent, it would be 52.381%.

To solve percent, since the total or 1/1 is 100%, we have to remember that the answer is less than 100%. So, we move 2 decimal places right to make it into percent. Then, the answer is 52.381.

To solve percent, you would do 100/21. Then, you would get 4.7619047619. You multiply that by 11 and get 52.381. But, you have to move 2 places left since fractions are tens, hundreds. So, you would get 0.52381.

write an expression that equals (x-13). It must have at leat two sets of parentheses and one minus sogn.Verify that it is equal
IRISSAK [1]

You can perform all kind of operation that are one the inverse of the other, so that the value won't change. For example, you can multiply and divide by 2:

\dfrac{1}{2}(2(x-13))

Or add and subtract 5:

\left(\dfrac{1}{2}(2(x-13))+5\right)-5
