Answer: The value of subscript to complete the given formula will 1 and 1 for both the elements

Explanation:

AL_xN_y

In the given formula Al is the symbol of aluminium metal and N is symbol of nitrogen atom.

Aluminium has tendency to looses three electrons from its valence shell to attain noble gas configuration where as nitrogen atom has tendency to gain three electrons to attain noble gas configuration. By loosing three electrons aluminium atom will get converted into aluminium cation with 3+ charge (AL^{3+})and by gaining three electrons nitrogen atom will get converted into nitride ion (N^{3-}). So, if the transfer of three electrons from aluminum atom to nitrogen atom occurs, the compound we will obtain will be AlN that is aluminum nitride.

Hence, the value of subscript to complete the given formula will :x=1, y=1

Which of these takes place when a chemical change occurs? option 1: Bonds connecting atoms in products and reactants form. optio
Tamiku [17]

Answer: Out of the given options bonds connecting atoms in reactants break, and bonds connecting atoms in products form are the changes which takes place when a chemical change occurs.

Explanation:

A change that leads to the change in chemical composition of a substance is called a chemical change.

For example, 2NH_{3} \rightarrow N_{2} + 3H_{2}

Here, bond between the reactant atoms nitrogen and hydrogen is broken down.

On the other hand, bond connecting the products that is N_{2} and H_{2} is formed.

Thus,, we can conclude that out of the given options bonds connecting atoms in reactants break, and bonds connecting atoms in products form are the changes which takes place when a chemical change occurs.

The picture shows a contractile vacuole of a unicellular freshwater organism. The contractile vacuole regulates the flow of wate
yuradex [85]

Answer:

A.The concentration of water is greater outside the cell than inside the cell.

Explanation:

The contractile vacuole of certain organisms functions to regulate water flow in and out of the cell. It does this by storing excess water that comes into the cell. In the case of this organism with a filled up contractile vacuole, it means water is flowing into the cell.

Naturally, water will flow into a living cell when an osmotic gradient i.e. difference in concemtration, has been created between intracellular and extracellular solutions. Osmosis involves movement of substances from a region of high water concentration to a region of low water concentration. This means that if water is flowing into the cell, which is stored by the contractile vacuole, the concentration of water must be greater outside the cell than inside.
