Nitrogen dioxide is produced by combustion in an automobile engine. For the following reaction, 0.377 moles of nitrogen monoxide
Contact [7]

Answer:

The amount of NO₂ that can be produced 8.533 g

Explanation:

       According to question

                                2 NO(g) + O₂(g) → 2 NO₂(g)

Given

Moles of nitrogen monoxide = 0.377

Moles of oxygen = 0.278

'For NO'=\frac{Mole}{Stoichiometry}=\frac{0.377}{2} =0.1855\\'For O_{2} '=\frac{0.278}{1}= 0.278\\

Since 'NO' is the limiting reagent according to this ratio.

According to equation

         2 moles NO reacts to form 2 moles NO₂

So,  0.1855 moles NO give  = 0.1855 moles of NO₂

            Mass of 1 mole NO₂ = 46 g/mole

            Mass of 0.1855 moles = 46 x 0.1855 = 8.533 g

What would happen if the sand dunes in an area were destroyed?
Komok [63]

Answer:

<u>Our beaches would be unprotected</u>

In the short-term, these artificial sand hills will be destroyed by the elements. Because sand dunes protect inland areas from swells, tides, and winds, they must be protected and defended like national treasures. ... The ocean and the wind can have an unpredictable, destructive force on coastal regions.

- surfertoday

Natural sand dunes play a vital role in protecting our beaches, coastline and coastal developments from coastal hazards such as erosion, coastal flooding and storm damage. Sand dunes protect our shorelines from coastal erosion and provide shelter from the wind and sea spray.

A 1.00 L flask is filled with 1.15 g of argon at 25 ∘C. A sample of ethane vapor is added to the same flask until the total pres
tatiyna

Answer:

The partial pressure of argon in the flask = 71.326 K pa

Explanation:

Volume off the flask = 0.001 m^{3}

Mass of the gas = 1.15 gm = 0.00115 kg

Temperature = 25 ° c = 298 K

Gas constant for Argon R = 208.13 \frac{J}{kg k}

From ideal gas equation P V = m RT

⇒ P = \frac{m R T}{V}

Put all the values in above formula we get

⇒ P = \frac{0.00115}{0.001} × 208.13 × 298

⇒ P = 71.326 K pa

Therefore, the partial pressure of argon in the flask = 71.326 K pa

Two systems with heat capacities 19.9 J mol-1 K-1 and 28.2 ] mol 1 K-1 respectively interact thermally and come to an equilibriu
MAVERICK [17]

Answer : The initial temperature of system 2 is, 19.415^oC

Explanation :

In this problem we assumed that the total energy of the combined systems remains constant.

-q_1=q_2

m\times c_1\times (T_f-T_1)=-m\times c_2\times (T_f-T_2)

The mass remains same.

where,

C_1 = heat capacity of system 1 = 19.9 J/mole.K

C_2 = heat capacity of system 2 = 28.2 J/mole.K

T_f = final temperature of system = 30^oC=273+30=303K

T_1 = initial temperature of system 1 = 45^oC=273+45=318K

T_2 = initial temperature of system 2 = ?

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get

-19.9J/mole.K\times (303-318)K=28.2J/mole.K\times (303-T_2)K

T_2=292.415K

T_2=292.415-273=19.415^oC

Therefore, the initial temperature of system 2 is, 19.415^oC

How is the way a mixture is combined different from how a compound is combined?
artcher [175]

Mixture is composed of molecules of different types. A compound can only be separated through chemical means. While a compound is a pure substance that contains 2 or more elements chemically combined together while a mixture are formed when two substances are added together without chemical bonds being formed.
