Answer:

It would take the clerical worker 6 hr to finish the job working alone.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the time taken( in hours ) by executive to finish the job when he works alone,

⇒ One hour work of the executive = \frac{1}{x}

According to the question,

Time taken by clerical worker to finish the job alone = 2x hours,

⇒ One hour work of the clerical worker = \frac{1}{2x}

Total work in one hour when they work together = \frac{1}{x}+\frac{1}{2x}

Now, it takes them 2 hr to finish the job together,

So, total work in one hour when they work together = \frac{1}{2}

\implies \frac{1}{x}+\frac{1}{2x}=\frac{1}{2}

\frac{2+1}{2x}=\frac{1}{2}

\frac{3}{x}=1

\implies x = 3

Hence, time taken by clerical worker to finish the job alone = 2(3) = 6 hours

SOVA2 [1]
First we need to convert 3 3/8 into 1/8ths:

3 \frac{3}{8} = \frac{27}{8}

Now, we need to see how many times 3/8 goes into 27/8:

\frac{27}{8} \div \frac{3}{8} = 27 \div 3 = 9

So we know he needs 9 telephone poles

56of the 90pets in the pet show are cats 4/5of the cats are calico cats. What fraction of the pets are calico cats?
meriva
To get the answer, we can divide 56 by 5 to find one fifth of the cats. Then, we can multiply this number to get four fifths of the cats. Then, we put this number over 90 since there is 90 pets in the entire show. Then, this answer ends up being about half all of the pets are calicos.
