Given: Mass m = 5.00 Kg;    Height h = 12 m;    Time t = 15 s

Required: Power P = ?

Formula: P = Fd/t  = mgh/t

               P = (5.0 Kg)(9.8 m/s²)(12 m)/15 s

               P = 39.2 Kg.m²/s²  or

               P = 39.2 J

A ball is thrown straight up into the air with a speed of 10 m/s . If the ball has a mass of 0.3 kg how high does the ball go ?
Damm [24]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

= 5.102 m

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>

The total energy, i.e. sum of kinetic and potential energy, is constant.

That is; E = KE + PE

Initially, PE = 0 and KE = 1/2 mv^2

At maximum height, velocity=0, thus, KE = 0 and PE = mgh

Since, total energy is constant (KE converts to PE when the ball is rising).

Therefore, KE = PE

or, 1/2 mv^2 = mgh

or, h = v^2 /2g

        = 10^2 / (2x9.8)

        =<u> 5.102 m</u>

An insulated beaker with negligible mass contains liquid water with a mass of 0.240 kg and a temperature of 75.8°C . How much ic
sweet [91]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let mass of ice required is m kg

Heat gained by ice to attain zero degree

= m x 14.1 x 2100

= 29610m J

Heat gained by ice to melt = m x 3.34 x 10⁵ J

= 334000m J

Heat gained by water at zero degree to warm up to 27 degree

m x 4190 x 27 =113130 J

Total heat gained = 476740m J

Heat lost by hot water to cool up to 27 degree

.24 x 4190 x ( 75.8 - 27 )

= 49073.28 J

Heat lost = heat gained

476740 m = 49073.28

m = 49073.28/476740 kg

=102.93 gm

Two charge spears are 20 cm apart and extract an attractive force of 8x10^-9 N on each other. Which will be the force of attract
Talja [164]

Answer:

3.2 × 10⁻⁸ N.

Explanation:

By Coulomb's Law, the magnitude of the electromagnetic force between two point charges is inversely proportional to the square of their separation, r. In other words,

\displaystyle \frac{F_1}{F_2} = {\left(\frac{r_2}{r_1}\right)}^{2}.

  • Initial electromagnetic force F_1 = 8\times 10^{-9}\;\text{N};
  • Initial Separation r_1 = 20\;\text{cm};
  • Final Separation r_2 = 10\;\text{cm}.

Final electromagnetic force:

\displaystyle F_2 = F_1 \cdot \left(\frac{r_2}{r_1}\right)^{2} = 8\times 10^{-9}\times \left( \frac{20}{10}\right)^{2} = 3.2\times 10^{-8}\;\text{N}.
