In each part that follows, you are given an equation of a line and a point. Find the equation of the line through the given poi

nt that is perpendicular to the given line. (The slope of the perpendicular line is the negative reciprocal of the slope of the given line if the given line is neither vertical nor horizontal.)

Answer:

a) y=-\frac{1}{9}x

b)y-2=-\frac{1}{3} (x-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write the equation of a line in 3 different forms including slope intercept, point-slope, and standard depending on the information we have. We have a point given and a slope from the equation. We will chose point-slope since we have a point and can find the slope.

Point slope:y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

a) m\neq 9 in our new equation because it is perpendicular to it. This means we will need to change it into its negative reciprocal which is m=-\frac{1}{9}.

We will substitute m=-\frac{1}{9} and x_1=0\\y_1=0.

y-0=-\frac{1}{9} (x-0)

This simplifies to:

y=-\frac{1}{9}x

b) The equation y=3x+4 follows y=mx+b. For the perpendicular line, m\neq 3. We will need to change it into its negative reciprocal which is m=-\frac{1}{3}.

We will substitute m=-\frac{1}{3} and x_1=1\\y_1=2.

y-2=-\frac{1}{3} (x-1)

12% profit on a computer is Rs.540.
Savatey [412]

Answer:

the cost price is Rs. 4500 and the sale price is Rs. 5040.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price of the compute be Rs. x.

The profit earned is, Rs. 540.

The profit percentage is, 12%.

The formula to compute profit is:

Profit = SP - CP

\begin{gathered}540=x[1+\frac{12}{100}]-x\\540=1.12x-x\\540=0.12x\\x=\frac{540}{0.12}\\x=4500\end{gathered}540=x[1+10012]−x540=1.12x−x540=0.12xx=0.12540x=4500

Compute the selling price as follows:

SP = CP + profit

     = 4500 + 540

     = 5040

Thus, the cost price is Rs. 4500 and the sale price is Rs. 5040.

I need to 2,4,6,8 <br> But please send me the work too
Ugo [173]

ok for number 2.)   2+8+1+5+1+3+1+7+5+4+3+1=41 and 41 divided by the number of number which is 12= 3.41666666667

the mean for number 2 is 3.41666666667.

for the median you put the number from least to greatest, like so:

1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 7, 8.

The middle is 3 and 3 so 3+3 divided by 2 is 6 so the median is 6.

I cant do mode but range is 8-1 divided by 2
