The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) officially defines speech and language impairments as “a communication disorder such as stuttering, impaired articulation, a language impairment, or a voice impairment that adversely affects a child's educational performance.”
A patient navigator will <span>build working relationships, solve problems and support patients while they learn to self-navigate the health care system. For instance, if a patient got test results that indicate that the patient might have cancer the patient navigator would help them through the system to ensure a timely treatment and diagnosis. </span>
