Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In triangle if two sides are known and included angle is known we can use cosine formula as follows:

Say in a triangle, sides a,b are known and also included angle C

Then the third side

c^{2} =a^{2}+b^{2} -2abCos C

Since all values on right side are known, we can find the third side c easily.

Case II:

If alternately two sides and one angle not included is known. i.e we know a,b and either angle A or B.

then to find third side we use sine formula.

\frac{a}{sinA}=\frac{b}{sinB} =\frac{c}{sinC}

Using the above we can find the unknonwn side c easily.

You can use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of the third side AB (Identified as "x" in the figure attached in the problem), which says that in a right angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the legs:
 a² = b²+c²
 As we can see the figure, the triangle does not have an angle of 90°, but it can be divided into two equal parts, leaving two triangles with a right angle. We already have the values of the hypotenuse and a leg in triangle "A" , so we can find the value of the other leg:
 b = √(a²-c²) b = √(10²-4²) b = 9.16
 With these values, we can find the hypotenuse in the triangle "B": x = √b²+c² x = √(9.16)²+(4)² x = 10

In which choice do all three points lie on the
spin [16.1K]

Answer:

D (1, 2), (2, 4), (4,8)

Step-by-step explanation:

Points lying on the same line:

If three points lie on the same line, the change in y has to be always the same when x changes by 1.

А. (0, 1), (-1, 3), (1, 3)

(-1,3) to (0,1): x changes by 1, y by -2

(0,1) to (1,3): x changes by 1, y by 2

So these points are not on the same line.

B. (4, 2), (2, 1), (4, -2)

Two values for y when x = 4, so not on the same straight line.

C (0, 0), (8, 0), (0, 8)

Two values for y when x = 0, so not on the same straight line.

D (1, 2), (2, 4), (4,8)

Here, when x changed by 1(from 1 to 2), y changed by 2.

When x changed by 2(from 2 to 4), y changed by 2*2 = 4.

So these points are on a straight line, and D is the correct answer.

A pyramid has a rectangular base of length (3x + 1)cm and width xcm.
sergey [27]

Answer:

The dimension of the base of the Rectangle Pyramid is Length = 10 and Width = 8/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Rectangle Pyramid

Base Length = 3x + 1

Base Width = x

Height = 12

Volume = 96

Required

Dimension of the base of the pyramid

Given that the volume of the pyramid is ⅓ of the base area * the height.

This is represented mathematical as

Volume = ⅓ * base area * height.

Where

Base area = width * length

Base area = (3x + 1) * x

Base area = 3x² + x.

So,

Volume becomes

Volume = ⅓ * (3x² + x) * 12.

Volume = (3x² + x) * 4

Substitute 96 for volume

96 = (3x² + x) * 4

Divide both sides by 4

96/4 = (3x² + x) * 4/4

24 = 3x² + x

Subtract 24 fr both sides

24 - 24 = 3x² + x - 24

0 = 3x² + x - 24

3x² + x - 24 = 0

Expand

3x² + 9x - 8x - 24 = 0

Factorize

3x(x + 3) - 8(x + 3) = 0

(3x - 8)(x + 3) = 0

3x - 8 = 0 or x + 3 = 0

3x = 8 or x = -3

x = 8/3 or x = -3

Recall that

Length = 3x + 1

Width = x

For any of the above expression, x can't be less than 0; so, x = -3 can't be considered.

Substitute x = 8/3

Length = 3x + 1

Length = 3(8/3) + 1

Length = 8 + 1

Length = 9

Width = x

Width = 8/3

Hence, the dimension of the base of the Rectangle Pyramid is Length = 10 and Width = 8/3

ABCD is a trapezoid. = 1 cm and = 5 cm, and the area = 7.5 cm2. What is the altitude of the trapezoid? 1.5 cm 2.5 cm 3 cm 2 cm
Ludmilka [50]

Answer:

2.5cm

Step-by-step explanation:

area of a trapeziod = 1/2 (a+b)×h

a=1cm

b=5cm

h=?

area= 7.5cm^2

••••• 7.5cm^2=1/2 (6)h

7.5= 3h

then height = 7.5/3= 2.5cm
