A block with mass m = 0.3 kg oscillates with amplitude A = 0.4 m at the end of a spring with force constant k = 6 N/m on a frict

ionless, horizontal surface. Rank the periods of the following oscillating systems from greatest to smallest. If any periods are equal, show their equality in your ranking. (Use only ">" or "=" symbols. Do not include any parentheses around the letters or symbols.) (a) The system is as described above. (b) The amplitude is changed to 1.6 m. (c) The mass is changed to 0.6 kg. (d) The spring now has a force constant of 18 N/m. (e) A small resistive force is added so the motion is underdampe

Answer:

a) T = 1.405 s

b) Period not depends on the amplitude

c) T = 1.987 s

d) T = 0.811 s

e) The period will change by a small value

The rank are:

Tc > Ta = Tb > Te > Td

Explanation:

Given:

m = mass = 0.3 kg

A = amplitude = 0.4 m

k = force constant = 6 N/m

a) The time period is:

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{k} } =2\pi \sqrt{\frac{0.3}{6} } =1.405 s

b) Period not depends on the amplitude

c) Same as a):

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{k} } =2\pi \sqrt{\frac{0.6}{6} } =1.987 s

d) Same as a):

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{k} } =2\pi \sqrt{\frac{0.3}{18} } =0.811 s

e) if a small resistive force is added the period will change by a small amount. The rank are:

Tc > Ta = Tb > Te > Td

Radon-222 transforms into polonium-218 and an alpha particle (he-4). what else is created?
ELEN [110]
Hm pretty much that's all for alpha decay... But always after any alpha or beta decay, gamma photons are released because the daughter products end up in an excited state so they have to release energy through gamma decay

Why does an egg dropped from a higher height move faster as it reaches the ground than an egg dropped from a lower height?
nignag [31]

Answer:When an egg is dropped from a higher height, it reaches a greater speed before hitting the ground. So the egg dropped from 5 meters has a greater velocity when it strikes the ground. It thus experiences the greater velocity change during the collision.

Make changes in your environment that will discourage target behavior and encourage healthier choices.
VladimirAG [237]

Answer with Explanation:

If my target behavior is "smoking" then I'd suggest to ban places which allows smoking areas. This is a very effective way in order to address the behavior. People who violates this law will also be penalized and if they continue to violate it, then they will have to be brought to court. In such way, smoker's attention will be diverted to healthier activities. Instead of smoking outside, they can go jogging in order to relieve themselves from stress. They can also spend quality time with their family.

If they practice this every day, then it will gradually become a normal part of their routine until they totally give up smoking.
