Answer:

a) frictional force  = 93.8 N

b) acceleration = 1.29 ms∧-2

Explanation:

The frictional force can be calculated by :

μ k   = Fk / N

where:

  • μ k = coefficient of kinetic friction = 0.14
  • N= normal force or the force perpendicular to the contacting surface
  • Weight of the crate, W = mg = (67 × 10) == 670 N

take acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s∧2

The normal force , N = W = 670N ( upward force equals downward force)

Fk = μ k × N

= 0.14 × 670

Fk  = 93.8 N

b) To calculate the magnitude of crate's acceleration

F - Fk  = ma

where

  • Fk  = frictional force = 93.8N
  • F = horizontal force = 180 N
  • m = mass = 67.0 kg
  • a = magnitude of acceleration (unknown)

by substituting,

180 - 93.8 = 67a

86.2 = 67a

acceleration, a = (86.2 ÷ 67)

a = 1.29 ms∧-2

Which actions are part of a system of methodical tests and refinements specific to technological design?
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

B. tinkering, presenting, testing

Explanation:

In technological designs, some actions that are part of a system of methodical tests are grouped as technological process. Technological process is defined as the ordered procedure or steps to be followed in order to successfully accomplish a task (e.g project).

The project must have been created and refined i.e tinkered to ensure it gives an expected result or outcome i.e the project should give a solution to the problem that it was designed for. Which would undergo presentation and testing before it can be approved.

As temperature increases, ________. Group of answer choices the resistance of a conductor remains the same the resistance of a c
amm1812

Answer:

resistance of a conductor increases

Explanation:

The resistance of conductors is directly proportional to the temperature of the conductor. This implies that when the temperature of the conductor is increased, the resistance of the conductor increases likewise.

This is applied in the resistance thermometer. Resistance thermometers are useful for accurate temperature measurements at very high or very low temperatures.

4) The components of Vector A are given as follows Ax = -2.4 Ay = + 3.8 What is the magnitude of the A, and what is the angle th
Monica [59]

Answer:

A = 4.49

α = 57.72°

Explanation:

Knowing the magnitude of x & y of a vector we can determine the total magnitude of a vector.

A=\sqrt{A_{x}^{2} +A_{y}^{2} } \\A=\sqrt{(2.4)^{2} +(3.8)^{2} }\\A=4.49

The angle tangent can be used to determine the angle.

tan(\alpha )=\frac{3.8}{2.4}\\tan(\alpha ) =1.5833\\\alpha =tan^{-1}(1.5833) \\\alpha = 57.72 (deg)
