Answer:

D OPTION

Explanation:

coordinates (in meters) as functions of time(in seconds) are given by the equation

1 ) x(t) = 3.5 +2.7t⁴

differentiating on both sides

dx / dt = 2.7 x 4 t³

Again differentiating

d²x / dt² = 2.7x 4 x 3 t²

= 32.4 t²

d²x / dt²  is acceleration so this  acceleration depends upon time .

2 ) x(t) = 3.5 +2.7t³

dx/dt = 2.7 x 3 t²

again differentiating

d²x/dt² = 2.7 x 3 x 2 t

= 16.2 t

This acceleration also depends upon time

3 ) x(t) = 3.5 +2.7t²

dx / dt = 2.7 x 2 t

again differentiating

d²x / dt² = 2.7 x 2 = 5.4

This acceleration is independent of time so it is constant.

4 )

x(t) = 3.5 + 3.4t + 2.7t²

differentiating both sides

dx / dt = 3.4 + 2.7 t

again differentiating

d²x / dt² =  2.7

This acceleration also is constant .

so D OPTION is corect

Answer:

D. Only particle 3 and 4

Explanation:

The acceleration of the particle can be found out easily by taking the derivative of each function, twice.

So, when we try to find the second derivatives of all the function, we get to know that only particle 3 and 4 will have a constant value. All the other particles will still be a function of "t". Thus 'D' is the correct answer.

The second derivatives will be as follows:

Particle 1: a(t) = 16.2 t

Particle 2: a(t) = 16.2 t

Particle 3: a(t) = 5.4

Particle 4: a(t) = 5.4

A train is travelling towards the station on a straight track. It is a certain distance from the station when the engineer appli
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

500 m

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity = 50 m/s

v = Final velocity = 0

s = Displacement

a = Acceleration = -2.5 m/s²

Equation of motion

v=u+at\\\Rightarrow 0=50-2.5\times t\\\Rightarrow \frac{-50}{-2.5}=t\\\Rightarrow t=20\ s

Time taken by the train to stop is 20 seconds

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow s=50\times 20+\frac{1}{2}\times -2.5\times 20^2\\\Rightarrow s=500\ m

∴ The engineer applied the brakes 500 m from the station

Water is flowing in a pipe with a circular cross section but with varying cross-sectional area, and at all points the water comp
slamgirl [31]

(a) 5.66 m/s

The flow rate of the water in the pipe is given by

Q=Av

where

Q is the flow rate

A is the cross-sectional area of the pipe

v is the speed of the water

Here we have

Q=1.20 m^3/s

the radius of the pipe is

r = 0.260 m

So the cross-sectional area is

A=\pi r^2 = \pi (0.260 m)^2=0.212 m^2

So we can re-arrange the equation to find the speed of the water:

v=\frac{Q}{A}=\frac{1.20 m^3/s}{0.212 m^2}=5.66 m/s

(b) 0.326 m

The flow rate along the pipe is conserved, so we can write:

Q_1 = Q_2\\A_1 v_1 = A_2 v_2

where we have

A_1 = 0.212 m^2\\v_1 = 5.66 m/s\\v_2 = 3.60 m/s

and where A_2 is the cross-sectional area of the pipe at the second point.

Solving for A2,

A_2 = \frac{A_1 v_1}{v_2}=\frac{(0.212 m^2)(5.66 m/s)}{3.60 m/s}=0.333 m^2

And finally we can find the radius of the pipe at that point:

A_2 = \pi r_2^2\\r_2 = \sqrt{\frac{A_2}{\pi}}=\sqrt{\frac{0.333 m^2}{\pi}}=0.326 m

Norma-Jean [14]

Answer: J.J Thomson

Explanation: J. J. Thomson, who discovered the electron in 1897, proposed the plum pudding model of the atom in 1904 before the discovery of the atomic nucleus in order to include the electron in the atomic model.
