Answer:

dependent variable values

Explanation:

A simplest graph can be represented via a two dimensional plot of values on the X-axis which represent the independent variables with those on the Y-axis which are associated with the dependent variables. This implies that for every change in the X-value there will be a suitable change in the value of Y-value.

For example, in absorbance measurements the absorbance (A) of a substance depends on its concentration (C). This relation is represented as:

A = k*C

where k is some constant

Therefore, when substances of different concentrations are measured, they will have different absorbance values. A plot of the independent variable 'C' on the x-axis and the dependent variable 'A' on the y-axis will give a straight line represented by the equation:

A = k(C) + constant

where k = slope of the line

'constant' = intercept value

How do you find the pressure in a container if you don't have the temperature?
BARSIC [14]
It depends on the process.
Like for example if the process is isothermal(temperature is constant), you can use,
PV = constant or P1V1 = P2V2 where P1V1 are initial conditions and P2V2 are final.

For adiabatic process,

PV^gamma = constant or P1V1 ^gamma = P2V2 ^gamma.

where gamma = Cp
                          ------
                           Cv
Cp = specific heat at constant pressure and Cv = specific at constant volume.

Value of Gamma will be given in question.
Hope this helps!

what conclusions can be made about the relationship between metallic character and the atomic radius?
kolezko [41]

We have to get the relationship between metallic character and atomic radius.

Metallic character increases with increase in atomic radius and decrease with decrease of atomic radius.

If electrons from outermost shell of an element can be removed easily, that atom can be considered to have more metallic character.

With increase in atomic radius, nuclear force of attraction towards outermost shell electron decreases which facilitates the release of electron.

With decrease in atomic radius, nuclear force of attraction towards outermost shell electrons increases, so electrons are hold tightly to nucleus. Hence, removal of electron from outermost shell becomes difficult making the atom less metallic in nature.
