On #3, I am pretty sure you would divide 558 by 3. 558÷3 gets you 186 so, I am pretty sure that means that the train travels at a speed of 186 mph

Find the slope-intercept form of a line that goes through the point (-1,3) and is parallel to -x+3y=12
Aliun [14]
First, I would simplify the given equation to find the slope of the parallel line as it will be the same for the line we are looking for.
3y=x+12
y=(x/3)+4

Slope= 1/3

Our equation now looks close, but we need the intercept.
y=(x/3)+B

Plug in the given point to find the intercept.
3=(-1/3)+B
4/3=B

Plug all the known values into the equation to complete the slope-intercept form.
y=(x/3)+4/3

explain how to write an equation of the line that passes through the point (3,1) and is a parallel to the line y=5 and (b) perpe
Andrews [41]

Answer:

The parallel line would be y = 1 and the perpendicular line would be x = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find a line parallel to y = 5, we must first note that y = 5 is a horizontal line. This means to be parallel, the line must also be horizontal. All horizontal lines are written in the form of y = (just a number). Since we can see the value of y in the ordered pair as 1, we know the equation is y = 1.

The exact opposite logic can be used to find the perpendicular line. Since the first line is horizontal, the next one will be vertical, which are written as x = (a number). We again look to the ordered pair to determine the number and write the equation as x = 3

A local newspaper wants to find out what readers thought of a controversial article they published. They mailed out a survey to
Aleksandr [31]

Yes.,this is a good way for the newspaper to collect information.

Step-by-step explanation:

The local news paper mailed out a survey to all of their subscribers those who bought the news paper and read out that controversial article., Gathering information or data from the target group is always acceptable.Email and Web page surveys are the least expensive for large samples than the personal interviews.Using online surveys help them to collect email addresses with lowering cost and increasing speed also real time access to data and more respondents can be attained by sending out randomly selected emails.

So.,

To find out the readers thought about a controversial article published by the news paper can mail a survey to all of their subscribers and can use the results of all the surveys that were returned. This  is a good way for the newspaper to collect information.
