Answer:

83.6 g

Explanation:

The limiting reactant is carbon and oxygen is in excess.

C + O₂ ⟶ CO₂

Data:

                  Mass of C = 22.8 g

                 Mass of O₂ = 78.0 g

Mass of unreacted O₂ =  17.2 g

Calculations:

          Mass of O₂ reacted = 78.0 g  -  17.2 g = 60.8 g

Mass of reactants (C + O₂) = 22.8 g + 60.8 g = 83.6 g

According to the Law of Conservation of Mass, the mass of the product (CO₂) equals the sum of the masses of the reactants.

The mass of CO₂ is 83.6 g.

xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer: 207.24

Explanation: Atomic mass = no of protons + no of neutrons

1) 82 protons, 122 neutrons , mass number= 82+122 = 204

2) 82 protons, 125 neutrons,  mass number= 82+125 = 207

3) 82 protons, 124 neutrons, mass number= 82+124 = 206

4) 82 protons, 126 neutrons, mass number= 82+126 = 208

Average atomic mass of an element =  \sum(\text{atomic mass of an isotopes}\times {{\text {fractional abundance}}

Average atomic mass of given element =  (204\times 0.014+207\times 0.221 +206\times 0.241+208\times 0.524)=207.24

The approximate atomic mass of lead is 207.24.

Butter goes rancid if we keep it outside the fridge.
rjkz [21]
Salted butter does not need to be stored in the fridge since the risk of bacterial growth is so low. ... However, it will stay fresh longer if it is kept in the refrigerator. Refrigeration slows down the process of oxidation, which will eventually cause butter to go rancid.

I hope this helps!

The 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was shared by Paul Crutzen, F. Sherwood Rowland, and Mario Molina for their work concerning th
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

-162,5 kJ/mol

Explanation:

Cl(g) + 2O2(g) --> ClO(g) + O3(g)  ΔH = 122.8 kJ/mol (as we used the reaction in the opposite direction, it will turn the enthalpy from exothermic to endothermic)

2O3(g) --> 3O2(g)   ΔH = -285.3 kJ/mol

  Cl(g) + O2(g) --> ClO(g) + O3(g)  ΔH = 122.8 kJ

+ 2O3 (g)          --> 3O2(g)              ΔH = - 285.3 kJ

O3(g) + Cl(g)     --> ClO(g) + 2O2(g)  ΔH = 122.8 + (-285.3) = -162,5 kJ

Some wastewater has a BOD5 of 150 mg/L at 20 o C. Nitrification was inhibited. The reaction rate k at that temperature has been
umka21 [38]

Answer:

given,

BOD₅ = 150 mg/L          at 20°C

k = 0.23/day

using formula

L = L_0(1-e^{-kt})

a) 150= L_0(1-e^{-0.23\times 5})\\150=L_0\times 0.683\\L_0=219.62\ mg/L

L₀ = 219.62 mg/L

b) k_{15}=k_{20}(1.047)^{T-20}\\k_{15}=0.23\times (1.047)^{-5}\\k_{15}=0.183

k = 0.183

c) BOD₅       at       15⁰C

 L = L_0(1-e^{-kt})

 L =219.62(1-e^{-0.183\times 5})

     L = 131.772 mg/L
